In December, we will finish our metro line, which will pass through Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital, reach Kayaşehir, and connect Istanbul Airport to Bağcılar Güngören, and put it at the disposal of Istanbul residents.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu carried out a test drive on the Gayrettepe - Istanbul Airport Metro line with the youth. Making a statement afterwards, Karaismailoğlu reminded that Istanbul Airport was recently built as a 5G airport. Reminding that Istanbul Airport will continue to break world records with its metro in the coming days, Karaismailoğlu said, “Istanbul Airport has become the best airport in Europe and the 5th airport in the world. It is one of our important investments that all the eyes of the world are on, both because it is the busiest airport and because it is the transit center of Istanbul and Turkey.”

WITH THE METRO LINE, ISTANBUL AIRPORT WILL CONTINUE TO BREAK THE BEST RECORDS

Karaismailoğlu, who stated that there was no life and greenery in the place where Istanbul Airport is, and that this area has no economic value, said that a full 10 billion 250 million euros were invested and that Istanbul Airport is one of the most prestigious projects in the world, which provides employment to 200 thousand people. . Karaismailoğlu said, “We have made an investment of 10 billion 250 million euros without a penny from the state's pocket, and we have created a work that will serve our country for centuries as one of the most feasible projects in the world with a rental income of 25 billion euros within 26 years of operation. Istanbul Airport will continue to attract the attention of the world with approximately 1400 daily flights and 230 thousand passengers. Together with the Kağıthane Metro line, which we are examining today, Istanbul Airport will continue to break the records of the best.”

OUR GOAL IS TO FINISH IN NOVEMBER

Expressing that they came to the airport by taking the metro from Kağıthane in the morning, Karaismailoğlu said, “We tested our metro. We don't have any problems. Our signaling certification process continues. Our tests continue. Our goal is to ensure that all our citizens start to reach Istanbul Airport by metro as of November. We will finish the Gayrettepe extension between Kağıthane and Istanbul Airport in November, and 6 months after that, and put the 37,5-kilometer Gayrettepe-Istanbul Airport metro into service. The continuation of this line, Istanbul Airport-Arnavutköy-Basaksehir-Halkalı We are excited to complete the metro line of 2023 kilometers plus 32 kilometers, ie approximately 37 kilometers, and the entire metro line surrounding the European Side of Istanbul in 70, by completing the Küçükçekmece connection with Marmaray and Marmaray by 2023, and putting it at the service of our nation. .

Emphasizing that there are also ongoing metro lines in Istanbul, Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“We planned to open our metro line, which continues to Başakşehir-Çam Sakura Hospital, which will be connected to the Istanbul Airport Küçükçekmece connection, which is also the continuation of this line, as of December. Our work continues in this direction. Again, we connect Sabiha Gökçen Airport with the metro. in September Kadıköy- By completing the connection from Kartal-Pendik to Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport, we will have brought the two airports of Istanbul together with the metro. Our goal is to put the Sabiha Gökçen Airport metro into service in September.”

GETTING THE RESULTS OF PLANNED INVESTMENTS MAKES PRIDE

Karaismailoğlu said, “While there is chaos at European airports, comfort is experienced at Turkish airports” and that it gives us pride to get the results of the planned investments made for the last 20 years.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “Work continues intensively on the Bakırköy Sahil-Güngören-Bahçelievler-Bağcılar-Kirazlı metro line, one of our ongoing investments in Istanbul. We aimed to finish this line by 2023. Our work continues intensively in the Altunizade-Çamlıca section. We have a metro line that is currently operating for 250 kilometers in Istanbul. When we, as the Ministry, complete our 103 km metro line, after counting Marmaray, we, as the Ministry, will have put more than 50 percent of Istanbul's metros into the service of our citizens. There is no problem in our 103 km metro line, the works continue very intensively. This year, we are opening three of our metro lines, the connection to Sabiha Gökçen in September, we are opening the Istanbul Airport metro, at which we are at the station, in November, and in December, it will pass through Başakşehir Çam and Sakura Şahir Hospital, reach Kayaşehir, and also connect to Istanbul Airport Bağcılar Güngören We will finish our metro line, which will unite in Istanbul, in December and put it at the disposal of Istanbulites.”

I HOPE THEY GO TO THEIR MIND

Pointing out that there is a 100-kilometer metro line in progress in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Karaismailoğlu said, “I wish the works had gone smoothly, they would have been finished together with the metro lines we built and put into the service of Istanbulites, but unfortunately the works are going very slowly. At this rate, with these works, these subways will hardly end in about 10 years. These subways were the subways that were started before the 2019 local elections. The first years of these subways are difficult to prepare for. Once started after that, it continues quickly at work. Until the 2019 local elections, all of these preparations were completed and work was started. But unfortunately, due to the stubbornness of the new mindset in making these subways, unfortunately these subways cannot be put into the service of Istanbulites. Hopefully, they will come to their senses, remember their duties and make an effort to finish these metro lines, which are indispensable for Istanbul, as soon as possible. Because; These metro lines are planned and invested within the framework of the Istanbul transportation master plan and complement each other. If not even one is made, it will be incomplete for its region. On the one hand, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, which works to finish the busy works, on the other hand, Istanbul is faced with the management and mentality that has spilled over the metro lines under construction. Our citizens will make the right decision during the election period," he said.

Noting that the Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport metro will be one of the fastest metros in the world with a speed of 120 kilometers per hour, Karaismailoğlu said, “It is also one of the world's best under construction. Here, 10 tunnel boring machines worked at the same time and finished this job quickly.”
