Bahriye Printing House in Beyoğlu will be a Library and Youth Center

The old Bahriye Printing House, which lost its function in Beyoğlu, is restored and brought to its new function. Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who examined the restoration works, said that the building; He said that there will be a Youth Center and a National Library that can host 500 young people at the same time with its library, exhibition and conversation halls.

Another historical building that has lost its function is being revived in Istanbul Beyoğlu, which has hosted many civilizations from the past to the present. The old Bahriye Printing House, located in the center of Kasımpaşa, next to the historical Turabibaba Library, was also used as a military court for a period. The old structure, which lost its function with the closure of the military courts, is being brought back to life with the work started by the Beyoğlu Municipality. The building, which is nearing the end of the restoration works, will be put into service by Beyoğlu Municipality as 'Kasımpaşa Youth Center and National Library'. Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who examined the ongoing works on site, gave information about the work.

IT WILL SERVE YOUTH WITH ITS LIBRARY, EXHIBITION AND INTERVIEW ROOMS

Beyoğlu Mayor Haydar Ali Yıldız, who examined the restoration works on site, said, “We are in a building known as the old navy printing house in Kasımpaşa, Beyoğlu, right next to the historical Turabibaba Library and used as a military court for a period. This place became dysfunctional with the closure of military courts. As Beyoğlu Municipality, we have started working to bring this building a new function and put it at the service of our citizens. When our ongoing restoration works are completed, this building with its library, exhibition and conversation halls will be at the service of our children as a new youth center in the center of Kasımpaşa in Beyoğlu. We will quickly complete the restoration works of our new library and youth center, which will serve approximately 500 young people at the same time, and put them into service. Beyoğlu's children will prepare for the future by studying, reading books and participating in conversations here.”
