President of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ersin Tatar visited GÜNSEL and received information about the mass production preparations of the TRNC's domestic automobile. President Tatar, who came to the GÜNSEL Production Facilities located on the Near East University campus, welcomed the Near East Foundation Board of Trustees and GÜNSEL Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel welcomed him. A detailed presentation was given to President Tatar, who carried out a test drive with GÜNSEL's first model B9 in the test drive area, explaining the studies carried out at GÜNSEL, preparations for mass production, future projections and the contribution of GÜNSEL to the country's economy.

Reminding that he attended the Islamic Solidarity Games held in Konya last week at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Tatar also made statements regarding his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Konya. Stating that the TRNC is struggling with unfair embargoes and political restrictions, President Tatar said that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev conveyed that Azerbaijan, like Turkey, has always stood by the TRNC and will always stand by it in the future.
