İzmir Eşrefpaşa Hospital Passed to X-Ray Device Application

Cardiology Specialist Dr. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital, which increased its security measures after Ekrem Karakaya was murdered with a gun by a patient's relative in the hospital where he worked in Konya, switched to x-ray device application. Eşrefpaşa Hospital Deputy Chief Physician Specialist Gaffar Karadoğan said, “Healthcare is an area where violence should never happen. As healthcare professionals, we want to provide services in environments where security systems will not be needed.”

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Eşrefpaşa Hospital has increased the security level to prevent violence in health. Metal detectors were placed at the entrances of the hospital. The system will detect citizens with more metal density than determined on the system, and then security personnel will intervene.

Stating that violence has increased in health, Eşrefpaşa Hospital Deputy Chief Physician Specialist Gaffar Karadoğan said, “An area where violence should not exist is the health field, but unfortunately, we lost about 20 of our friends in the last 10 years due to the violence against the health personnel. I believe that necessary steps have not been taken to resolve these. Cardiology Specialist Dr., who was shot with a gun by the patient's relatives at the hospital where he worked in Konya last month. As a result of the murder of Ekrem Karakaya, an x-ray device was placed at the entrance of our hospital in line with the decision taken by the Ministry of Health.
