China has completed the construction of the first rare-element magnetic rail railway. China completed construction of the country's first independently developed, rare-element permanent magnetic levitation (PML) test line on Tuesday.
The nearly 800-meter magnetic rail railway named “Rainbow” was built in Xingguo county of Jiangxi province in eastern China. The railway system, which has a maximum speed of 80 kilometers per hour in the project, can currently serve two maglev train wagons with a total carrying capacity of 88 people. The transit system includes BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, 5G and smart sensing technologies. Rare element PML technology can provide environmentally friendly solutions by saving energy by keeping trains in suspension.
