Emirates announced that it plans to increase the frequency of flights to Mauritius from 1 October 2022, immediately after the resumption of its twice-daily schedule. The additional evening service, which will run until 31 January 2023, will meet the increasing demand for Mauritius flights and increase the connectivity to the island country.

Emirates' third daily flight to Mauritius will operate according to the following schedule (flight times indicated in local time): EK flight 709 will depart Dubai at 22:10 and arrive in Mauritius at 04:45. Flight EK 710 will depart Mauritius at 06:30 and arrive in Dubai at 13:05.

Sheikh Ahmed Bin Said Al Maktoum, Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates Airlines and Group, said in a statement:

“We thank the authorities in Mauritius for considering our request to carry out our third daily voyage. Air connectivity is critical to international tourism and these additional seats will respond to rising demand by bringing even more visitors to Mauritius from points in our network. Emirates is committed to playing a key role in supporting inbound demand and supporting the government to meet its target of hosting 2023 million tourists by June 1,4.”

Emirates renewed its Memorandum of Understanding with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) in May this year, aimed at promoting the island nation on Emirates' global network. Mauritius is an extremely popular holiday destination and continues to show steady growth post-pandemic.

In addition to carrying more passengers, Emirates' third daily flight between Dubai and Mauritius will provide companies with 30-40 tons more under-flight cargo capacity, offering more import-export opportunities and further expanding global trade routes.

Emirates started its services to Mauritius with three flights per week in September 2002 and is now celebrating its 20th anniversary of launching services to the Indian Ocean country.

Emirates continues to expand its transport offerings in response to rising passenger demand as travel confidence rises and international travel protocols are relaxed. Increasing its connectivity to Tel Aviv twice a day, and recently restarting passenger flights to London Stansted, Emirates has adequately recaptured the pre-pandemic frequency as passengers begin to travel by air again.
