With the organization organized by the General Directorate of Martyrs' Relatives and Veterans of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, 7 Cypriot veterans from 7 regions of Turkey who participated in the Cyprus Peace Operation are visiting the lands they fought for.

The General Directorate of Martyrs' Relatives and Veterans organizes activities to support the relatives of martyrs and veterans economically, socially and culturally. In this context, the project titled “Meeting of our Cyprus Veterans with Cyprus Youth in Blue Homeland” was prepared.

Martyr Relatives and Veterans General Manager Şemseddin Yalçın said, “With this project, we aim to bring together our veterans who participated in the war and received the title of veterans and who live in different geographies of Turkey and young people living in Cyprus. In addition, it is important for us to visit the places where the war took place and to mobilize social awareness and sensitivity in order to refresh the memory of the traces, hardships and heroisms of the past, and to transfer the experiences to the younger generations.” said.

Within the framework of the event organized within this scope, 7 veterans from 7 regions of Turkey who participated in the Cyprus Peace Operation went to the TRNC.

Cyprus veterans from Ankara, Antalya, Gaziantep, Istanbul, Izmir, Malatya and Samsun experienced the excitement of revisiting the lands for which they were veterans after many years.

Within the scope of the two-day program in the TRNC, the veterans, who will visit state officials, will come together with the Cypriot youth to share their memories and experiences. Veterans Bosphorus Martyrdom, 1974 Operation Headquarters, Hz. Ömer will visit various places in Girne, Famagusta, Maraş and Nicosia with the Tomb and Masjid.
