The Ministry of Culture and Tourism opened a library containing 5 thousand works at the Ankara High Speed Train (YHT) Station. The opening of the library was made by Ahmet Misbah Demircan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism.

In his speech at the opening, Demircan stated that they also created a library in the part of YHT Station where the Tourism Information office is located and said, “It is a very boutique and special application where the culture and tourism functions of our Ministry intersect.” said.

Pointing out that thousands of passengers are hosted at the YHT Station every day, Demircan emphasized that they are proud to offer a library that includes publications about culture at the information point, where information about Turkey's touristic facilities and tourism infrastructures is included.

Noting that there are 5 thousand books in the library, Demircan said:

“Here, we have collected our classics, novels, poems and books that reflect us, apart from publications related to tourism. People need it when they travel. We have e-book applications, but in such a place, it was our goal to both provide information and allow one of the book selections to accompany him throughout the trip. It was a good application, it suits our Ankara, it suits our station.”

Demircan noted that they also put such libraries into service at Istanbul Airport, Esenboğa Airport and Konya Train Station.

Books taken from the library, which also contains sources published in foreign languages containing touristic information, can be delivered to any library in Turkey.
