Ankara-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Superstructure Works Groundbreaking Ceremony brought the summit of the state together. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a live connection with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu for the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Superstructure Works Groundbreaking Ceremony, and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci for the Afyonkarahisar Tea Dam Opening Ceremony. To the ceremony; Deputy President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum, Minister of Interior Süleyman Soylu, Minister of Commerce Mehmet Muş, Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun, Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) General Manager Hasan Pezük, deputies and local administrators attended.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the Great Offensive and Afyonkarahisar Mass Opening Ceremony held at Zafer Square and addressed the citizens. Stating that they have made significant investments in the region, President Erdoğan said, “We are carrying out comprehensive studies for the development of tourism based on cultural and thermal tourism in our region. We have completed the restoration of 600 of 400 registered mansions. In transportation, until 2002, 54 kilometers of divided roads were built in Afyonkarahisar. We increased it to 531 kilometers with an additional 585 kilometers. We renewed the railways within the borders of Afyonkarahisar. We restored the station building. Ankara-Afyonkarahisar-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Line is under construction. With the completion of this line in 2025, the distance between Afyonkarahisar and Ankara will be reduced to 1,5 hours, Istanbul to 3,5 hours, and Izmir to 2 hours. In Agriculture and Forestry, we built 43 dams and 26 ponds in Afyonkarahisar. We are building 7 dams and one more pond. With irrigation projects, we opened 742 thousand decares of agricultural land in Afyonkarahisar for irrigation. Thus, we achieved an annual increase of 1,1 billion liras in agricultural income. We will irrigate a total of 13 thousand decares of land with our 34 irrigation facilities under construction.” said.

After the speech, President Erdoğan made a live connection with the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu for the Ankara-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Superstructure Works Groundbreaking Ceremony, and the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Vahit Kirişci for the Afyonkarahisar Tea Dam Opening Ceremony. After the ribbons were cut in the places where the inaugurated facilities are located, President Erdoğan cut ribbons with the children he invited to the stage and his accompanists, and realized the collective opening of all the works.

Ankara-Afyonkarahisar-Uşak-Manisa-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train Line is being built in accordance with a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. When the 508 kilometer line is completed, the travel time between Ankara and Izmir will be reduced to 3,5 hours. 48 tunnels, 68 viaducts, 11 cut-and-cover tunnels and 63 bridges are being built on the line.
