Samsun Metropolitan Municipality put into service the first ultra-fast charging electric buses in Turkey as of today. 10 environmentally friendly electric buses carried citizens to Çarşamba Airport, where TEKNOFEST Black Sea was held, free of charge.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality started to serve with electric buses to be used in urban public transportation. As of today, electric buses with ultra-fast charging feature have started to be used in public transportation for the first time in Turkey. 10 electric buses took the citizens from Tekkeköy Tram Stop to the TEKNOFEST Black Sea area at Çarşamba Airport free of charge throughout the day.

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which signed the Contract for Electric Bus and Charging Systems with Ultra-Fast Charging Feature last year with the participation of Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, has implemented a collective project that eliminates exhaust gas, contributes greatly to environmental cleanliness, and reduces operating costs with fuel savings. into the transport system.

The buses, which have a range of 80 kilometers with the batteries that meet the necessary standards against combustion and explosion, will also reduce carbon emissions and noise pollution. Avenue EV, the first 100% domestic electric buses of the Turkish automotive industry, developed in cooperation with ASELSAN and TEMSA, is now on the road. A total of 20 electric buses are planned to be included in the public transport system.

'ELECTRIC BUS WILL REDUCE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION'

Efe Ay said that it is a very good practice for electric buses to start serving, “Today, since most vehicles use fossil fuels, environmental pollution is very high. The fumes from the exhausts pollute the atmosphere too much. The fact that buses are electric will contribute to reducing environmental pollution. I think it's a very good investment. It consumes clean energy, it is a recyclable energy because it is electricity. I didn't know that Samsun was so developed, I liked it very much. It would be very nice if these buses become widespread all over Turkey," he said.

'A VERY BEAUTIFUL APPLICATION'

Melih Bekir Oymagil, who said that electric vehicles are becoming more and more widespread and should continue like this, said, “In our age, electric vehicles continue to become more and more widespread. Technology is moving towards that. Electrical systems are compatible with smart cities. The fact that the buses are electric is very good because it is both more environmentally friendly and can keep up with the new systems in an up-to-date manner. The use of electric vehicles in public transport is a very good work," he said.

'ECO-FRIENDLY BUS'

Ömer Faruk Özüyağlı said that electric buses are environmentally friendly investments and said, “Fossil fuel use in the world is gradually decreasing. The world has started to turn to electric vehicles. The introduction of electric buses is a very positive development for the environment. It means investing in the future,” he said.

'HE WILL CONTRIBUTE GREATLY TO SAMSUN'

Expressing that electric buses will make a very important and great contribution to Samsun, İbrahim Sefa Güneysu said, “The introduction of electric buses will prevent air pollution caused by fossil fuels. It is a very good work for our city, for our people," he said.

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “With the cooperation of ASELSAN, high-performance, environmentally friendly, lithium-battery, ultra-fast charging, 100 percent electric buses localized by Turkish engineers were put into service with TEKNOFEST. We charge our buses ultra fast. Our buses, which are put into service as of today, will suit our Samsun very well. Good luck,” he said.
