The twin volcanic mountains of Büyük Tendürek (3 thousand 533 meters) and Küçük Tendürek (3 thousand 291 meters), located between Doğubayazıt in Ağrı and Çaldıran districts of Van, have been cleared of terrorism thanks to the work carried out by the security forces.
Gendarmerie and Border Units, Commandos, Security Forces and Security Guards worked 7 hours a day, 24 days a week, in order to secure the area, which has been used as a shelter for terrorists for years with its volcanic structures and rugged geography.
The "Eren Blockade-32 Martyr Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Mustafa Yıldız 2022-217" operation, supported by UAV and SİHA, was launched by Van and Ağrı Provincial Gendarmerie Commands and Van and Ağrı Provincial Police Departments.
On 13 August, one was dead, 2 in the "green" category, on the right side in the region where 3 terrorists were neutralized, and on 16 August in the Van countryside as part of the "Eren Blockade-32" operation, one in the "grey" category and the other in the "orange" category. The security forces, who captured 2 terrorists dead, cleared the region of terrorism after a long time.
It was determined that Tuğba Tambahçeci, codenamed "Evindar" in the "orange" category, who was neutralized in Van, participated in all the protests in the Tendürek Mountain region since 2016.
Turkish Flag Planted on the Top of the Mountain
The Turkish flag was planted on the summit of Tendürek Mountain, where security was ensured thanks to the fight against terrorism carried out by the security forces despite the freezing cold and scorching heat for years.
Work has also been initiated to bring the crater lake at the summit, which has been hidden for years due to terrorist attacks, and other natural beauties to tourism.
A base area was established on the summit of the mountain, and a 12-kilometer road was built to reach the summit more easily. The ashy and rough structure of the mountain was corrected with the construction equipment of the Provincial Gendarmerie Command and the Metropolitan Municipality, and the material on which the vehicles could easily move was laid.
In order to make the security sustainable and nature lovers to visit the region safely, the road that revolves around the crater of Büyük Tendürek Mountain is also kept under constant control with 360-degree thermal cameras placed on the summit of the mountain.
