Turkey's wastewater treatment leader, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU General Directorate, is implementing the New Şakran Wastewater Treatment Plant project that will serve Aliağa. The facility, whose tender process has been completed and will be built with an investment of 116 million liras, will be Izmir's 71st wastewater treatment facility.

İZSU General Directorate is making another environmental investment in Aliağa. The construction of the New Şakran Wastewater Treatment Plant, whose tender process has been completed, is planned to start within a few months.

It will treat 7 thousand 609 cubic meters of domestic wastewater per day

The Yeni Şakran Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will reinforce İzmir's leadership in the field of treatment, will treat 7 cubic meters of domestic wastewater per day by serving Aşağı Şakran, Bahçedere, Hacı Ömerli coastal areas, Yeni Kalabak and central districts.

Septic tank era ends in Yeni Şakran

With the facility to be built on an area of ​​30 thousand square meters in the Yukarışakran region of Aliağa, one of the settlements located on the northern Aegean coast of İzmir with its uniquely beautiful nature, the era of septic tanks in the region will come to an end. Waste water treated with advanced biological methods at the facility will be disposed of without harming the nature. The scope of the project will also include odor removal and an activated sludge drying system.
