Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that approximately 9 million vehicles have used the Ankara-Niğde Highway, which is among the giant projects of the ministry, since the day it was opened, and said, "With the half of the travel time, we are bringing our citizens to their loved ones safely, comfortably and quickly."

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a written statement about the Ankara-Niğde Highway. Pointing out that they have invested in every mode of transportation in the last 20 years and have largely solved Turkey's infrastructure problem, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“We have implemented projects that our nation needs without stopping. We have fulfilled what we promised to our nation. We worked 7/24 and we continue to work. We put giant projects at the service of our nation. One of those projects is the Ankara-Niğde Highway…. Ankara-Niğde Highway, which is a part of the highway ring, has a total length of 275 kilometers, of which 55 kilometers is the main body and 330 kilometers is the connection road. The highway, which was completely opened to traffic on December 16, 2020, provided uninterrupted transportation on the TEM (Trans European Motorway) Highway, which starts from Edirne and extends to the Southeast via Istanbul and Ankara, including the planned Şanlıurfa-Habur Border Gate section.

ANKARA-NIGDE BETWEEN 2 HOURS AND 22 MINUTES

Emphasizing that with the opening of the highway, the travel time between Ankara and Niğde has decreased from 4 hours 14 minutes to 2 hours 22 minutes, Karaismailoğlu said, “Since the day it was opened, 8 million 961 thousand vehicles have passed through the highway. A total of 450 million TL was saved annually, 278 million TL per year from time and 728 million TL per year from fuel consumption. 57 thousand tons of carbon emission reduction was achieved”.

WE ARE BUILDING TURKEY'S FUTURE

Stating that they have increased the highway network more than 20 times in 2 years and reached 3 thousand 633 kilometers, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu noted that they will continue to implement the projects in the light of the 2053 Transport and Logistics Master Plan. Stating that the length of the highway will increase to 2053 kilometers by 8, Karaismailoğlu said, “We will continue to build Turkey's future. Despite those trying to find a handle on every investment we make, we are on our way. We are working for the future of Turkey and our nation, and we will continue to do so.”
