As we leave 17 years behind after the 23 August earthquake, Turkey's expert real estate platform is reminding the earthquake risk again with all real estate statistics. Considering the number of advertisements according to the age of the building, the difference between the buildings built before the earthquake regulation and the buildings built after the earthquake regulation draws attention. Residences aged 34 and above constitute 15 percent of the advertisements listed in Hepsireal Estate. When we look at the 3 big cities, the rate of buildings at risk of earthquake in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir is also quite high.

Despite the increasing number of new buildings and urban transformation in Turkey in recent years, the number of residences at risk of earthquakes draws attention. According to the data of Hepsiemlak, Turkey's expert real estate platform, 44 percent of the houses for rent and sale in Ankara and Izmir consist of buildings that are 15 years or older. When we look at the registered advertisements on the Hepsireal estate website, it is seen that 40 percent of the buildings in Istanbul were built in accordance with the old regulation. Another noteworthy data is observed in Antalya and Balıkesir. It is seen that 34 percent of the advertisements belonging to Balıkesir district listed in All Real Estate and 25 percent of the advertisements listed in Antalya are pre-regulatory buildings.
