Siro Silk Road Clean Energy Storage Technologies (Siro), which was established to develop energy storage solutions for automotive and non-automotive applications on a global scale, started battery production. Siro, which started development activities for different usage areas, especially electric vehicles, at the Battery Development Center in Gebze, announced that it has successfully completed the production and tests of its first prototype battery. At Siro Battery Development Center, development activities will be carried out for different usage areas, especially electric vehicles.
With the commissioning of the serial production lines, which are still being installed in Gemlik, it is planned to develop battery cells as well as new generation battery modules and packs at the Battery Development Center in Gebze. By creating a synergy between the two centers, the processes from technology development to mass production for batteries will be completed.
2031 GWh annual production capacity target by 20
Having grown its team with experts and experienced names since its establishment in September 2021, Siro will start mass production of the developed battery modules and packages from the beginning of 2023. In the second phase, Siro will develop and manufacture Li-Ion NMC battery cells based on Farasis Energy's latest technology with its Battery Development Center. Thus, Turkey will have the competence to develop and produce cells, which is available in a few countries. By 2031, Siro will be one of the leading energy storage players in the region with an annual production capacity of 20 GWh, and will make significant contributions to the dissemination of clean energy, reduction of carbon emissions, and thus to the sustainable world.
