EGO General Directorate continues to work for the "Smart Ankara Project" in order to create a sustainable transportation plan in the capital and to ensure the integration of the city with other transportation points.

Within the scope of the European Union supported project, 408 electric bicycles, 34 electric bicycle charging stations, 8 bicycle counters, 480 bicycle transport apparatus for buses, 290 meters bicycle ramps to make metro stations suitable for bicycle transportation, 2 panel vans and a fleet The tender process of the management software has been completed.

EGO General Directorate continues its efforts at full speed to implement the European Union supported “Smart Ankara Project”.

EGO General Directorate, which established the electric bicycle sharing system, which is a clean, environmentally friendly and healthy mode of transportation to Ankara, signed the procurement contracts for the materials to be used in the electric bicycle infrastructure within the scope of the project.

TENDER PROCESS COMPLETED IN MANY ITEMS

According to the European Union PRAG tender criteria by the Metropolitan Municipality and the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, 408 electric bicycles, 34 electric bicycle charging stations, 8 bicycle counters, 480 bicycle transport apparatus for buses, 290 meters in order to make metro stations suitable for bicycle transportation. Bicycle ramp, 2 vans and fleet management software tender process has been completed.

THE FIRST PHASE OF THE PROJECT IS TO BE COMPLETED

Bülent Özkan, Head of Transportation Technologies Department of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate, gave the following information about the project:

“The Smart Ankara project is an important project for sustainable transportation, carried out under the coordination of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, supported by the European Union. It is a project that prioritizes urban mobility and is supported by a 5 million euro grant. This project consists of 2 components, the first component is the purchase of goods and the second component is the purchase of services. The first stage, the purchase of goods, has been completed and the tender has been concluded. The tender was made entirely within the framework of the rules of the European Union. The completion of the procurement of goods within the scope of this project will only be completed in the first quarter of 2, and from the beginning of 1, these bicycles will start serving in Ankara as integrated into public transportation.
