We have a solid Istanbul process in our hands. You can proudly tell. You can explain how your money is used in the most ethical way.”

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) President Ekrem İmamoğlu, participated in the opening of the library bearing the name of poet Hasan Hüseyin Korkmazgil within the scope of “150 Projects in 150 Days”. The opening, which was held in the Akşemsettin District of Eyüpsultan district, took place with the great interest of the people of the neighborhood. Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor İmamoğlu noted that they discussed the issues with an egalitarian concept while presenting the service. Stating that they have implemented projects that enable Istanbulites to access whatever they cannot, İmamoğlu said, “We are putting forward a very unique journey at the point of completing whatever is missing at any point. We are proud of changing and transforming some of the deficiencies that may have existed in terms of local government for many years, with the innovative approach we put forward in the focus of Istanbul. This will affect the whole of Turkey. It includes inclusivity, transparency, equality and accountability. Because, by preventing waste in the most correct way with the wishes of our citizens, with their budget; We can respond through concepts such as benefit, efficiency, sustainability. We can take the right decision by putting forward a common mind, not a mind. We are putting forward a local administration with an understanding that we find solutions and answers to these problems”.

WE HAVE A SAFE ISTANBUL PROCESS

Defining the "150 Projects in 150 Days" marathon with the words "It is a campaign to reveal the egalitarian understanding more and to explain this to our people in a better way", İmamoğlu said, "Someone may come out and denigrate us. Let's talk about our projects, services, what we do, and our view of the citizens against the understanding of the government, whose process-oriented understanding is only about vilifying, defaming, slandering, and polluting, which will be today's opposition in Istanbul and tomorrow's opposition in Turkey. We have a solid Istanbul process in our hands. You can proudly tell. You can explain how your money is used in the most ethical way. You can describe your projects. You can proudly tell the example of Istanbul, from urban transformation to green spaces, from cultural areas to social aid.”

GOD BLESS ME TO THE CHILDREN OF THIS CITY

Stating that they will share many more “1,5 Projects” sections with Istanbulites over the next 150 years, İmamoğlu stated that the library will contribute to the training of new Hasan Hüseyin Korkmazgils. Underlining that they will use all means to create a generation that does not feed on superstition, but produces with its own mind and looks to the future with courage, the Mayor of IMM said, “Turkey has perhaps one of the youngest populations in the world. But it makes sense if that young population is raised efficiently. Otherwise, it is not possible to reach a meaningful result. We set out to create opportunities in this city where all the children in this city will benefit from the knowledge, books and libraries that I have been nourished with throughout my life, at the same rate, even at the rate that exceeds me. I said we will equalize the children of this city. From Bağcılar to Bakırköy, from Tuzla to Beylikdüzü, from Silivri to Şile, Bakırköy and KadıköyWe will equalize each of our children until … Children grow up fast. We have to keep up with their speed. May God not embarrass me to the children of this city," he said.
