Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Bridge Renewed

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality completed the renovation works at Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard. With an investment of 10,5 million liras, the yellow and red bridge was offered to the residents of Göztepe.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality has completed the maintenance, repair and reinforcement works of Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard, which facilitates pedestrians' access to the beach and the ferry port. Opened as the Güzelyalı Overpass in 1997 and named after the martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay in 2010, the 125-meter-long suspension steel bridge was completely renovated and strengthened. The people of Göztepe got their yellow and red bridge.

10 and a half million lira investment in the bridge

Within the scope of the works costing 10,5 million liras, the steel ropes of the suspension bridge were maintained and the base of the bridge tower (pylon) was strengthened. In addition, the bridge tower was strengthened with the liner method and the pavements on the walkway were renewed.

Temporary pedestrian crossing removed

Due to the closure of the pedestrian overpass, the signalized pedestrian crossing, which was created temporarily for the passage of pedestrians, was closed for use after the overpass was reopened.
