The new drinking water transmission line, which is approximately 15 kilometers long, between Dudullu and Ömerli, started service with a ceremony. Speaking at the opening of the project that provides water to 8 districts on both sides of the city, IMM President Ekrem İmamoğluHe said that they have implemented projects in favor of Istanbul, in accordance with reason and science. Stating that the project, whose current amount has been completed to 875 million TL, will provide water transportation to 4,5 and a half million Istanbul residents, İmamoğlu said, “Sancaktepe, Ümraniye, Ataşehir, Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Fatih, Zeytinburnu, Bahçelievler districts, we are putting into service the project that will facilitate water transfer. We have implemented an important line that will be used as a very important bypass line so that there is no interruption in case of failure.

Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Ekrem İmamoğlu, participated in the opening of the Ömerli-Dudullu Additional Drinking Water Transmission Line and Water Distribution System, the construction of which was completed. Sancaktepe, Umraniye, Atasehir, KadıköySpeaking at the official opening of the transmission line, which will eliminate the problems experienced in malfunctions and maintenance in Üsküdar, Fatih, Zeytinburnu and Bahçelievler districts, İBB President Ekrem İmamoğluHe said that in the "150 Projects in 150 Days" marathon, projects developed on a rational and scientific basis were implemented in favor of Istanbul. Stating that the process has been well analyzed, from the costs and financing to the tender and the subsequent follow-up, inspection and termination of the process, İmamoğlu stated that they have addressed the problems of the city in a holistic way: “We receive the demands of our citizens at the beginning of the process. We are walking with an understanding that maximizes social benefit and acts in the sense of right investment. It's not about saving the day. There is no concern for us to make an election-oriented movement. There is no concept of let's paint your eyes. We manage the process in an absolute transparent manner, from the beginning to the end, that is, until the next, when we hand over the flag, within the framework of continuity. Enigma, we are carrying out with an understanding that has no unknown sides. This is how we look at the concept of a project. Therefore, the opening we made today is exactly the description of such a service.”

THERE IS A DON'T WORK CONCRETE BODY

Welcoming CHP Deputy Chairman Honorary Adıgüzel and CHP Group Deputy Chairman Engin Altay at the ceremony, İBB President İmamoğlu made a call to his guests for the Melen Project, which was condemned to be dead, to be included in the agenda of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. He shared that no steps have been taken about Melen, which was announced in 2016 with the date and time it will be completed, even after 6 years. Reminding him of the study tour he made to Melen with his staff, İmamoğlu said, “We realized in this process that Mr. President was not even aware of this. Because later, it was tendered again in February 2020 with a hasty process description. A process for repairing cracks was determined with an additional budget. But even then, we made serious warnings that the project, which was prepared with some techniques, was insufficient and could not solve the problem. We even conveyed these warnings to the State Hydraulic Works, even to the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of that period, and to the relevant persons and institutions. Not just me. Despite the fact that our General Manager, who was on duty at that time, went back and forth with his Assistant General Manager friends many times, these warnings were not heeded. Tender done. About a month and a half ago, unfortunately, our General Manager warned me that the tender was terminated. It can be seen that in the two years period -as per the circular, the contractors who could not exceed 15 percent were given the right to terminate, you know, unilaterally--it seems that even 15 percent could not be exceeded in two years. Because, according to the previous reports, we were informed that the project, which unfortunately did not know exactly what to do, was insufficient, and that even the contractor split the institution several times in this regard, that is, the employers at that time. When you look at it, I don't know how to calculate it, but right now it's maybe close to 10 billion. There is a useless concrete body in the middle.” used his statements.

DRINK WATER FROM THE TAP

İSKİ General Manager Şafak Başa, who gave a place to the benefits that the project will bring to Istanbul and the projects realized, called on the people of Istanbul to drink tap water. Başa said, “We say that water is drunk from the tap in Istanbul. It is starting to protect Istanbul's water from its source. We also treat our 22 drinking water treatment plants meticulously. We deliver these waters to the houses through pipes, 99 percent of the network has been renewed and does not contain any pollution. We regularly check the water we give to the city in our authority laboratories," he said.
