Swimming and nautical trainings started by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for children from Kadifekale on July 4 in Marina İzmir continue. Portable pools established in 7 different neighborhoods attract great attention.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç SoyerIn line with the goal of creating a sports culture in the city, 75 children from Kadifekale meet at Marina İzmir on Mondays and Thursdays to both learn to swim and receive maritime training. Trainings continue at full speed at the portable pools in Pazaryeri and Kadifekale in Konak, Meriç in Bornova, Yakakent in Çiğli, Leylak in Beydağ, İsmet İnönü in Menemen and Yeni Mahalle in Kiraz.
Hakan Orhunbilge, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, stated that the trainings in Marina Izmir and seven different neighborhoods achieved the goal and said, “We will continue to develop the project that we started with three portable pools last year, until there are no children who can't swim in Izmir, and we will train about ten thousand children. . When we set out, we had a goal of transforming İzmir into a sports city and we are getting closer to that with every step.”
The trainings will end on August 31.
