Akkuyu NPP Construction Works Are Continuing

Works at Akkuyu NPP construction site continue as usual. Project management, with the decision to reorganize the participants in the construction works, especially after the contract with TITAN2 IC İÇTAŞ İNŞAAT ANONİM ŞİRKETİ (T2IC) was terminated, with TSM ENERJİ İNŞAAT SANAYİ LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ (TSM), the new main contractor company for the construction of nuclear power units of Akkuyu NPP. It is actively involved in the process of re-signing contracts between subcontractors. As of August 5, 2022, most of the companies carrying out construction and installation works have signed contracts with TSM regarding their scope of work. The re-signing of contracts with others is expected to be completed as soon as possible.

Due to T2IC's refusal to terminate the contract with the agreement of the parties and failure to fulfill its obligations, including the payment of the salaries of the employees in financial matters, AKKUYU NÜKLEER has decided to pay the salaries of T2IC's employees for the month of July 2022 from its own resources. The wages of the employee who receives salaries in Turkish lira will be increased by 35%.

All workers, engineers and managers who were previously employed at T2IC are offered to move to TSM, the new employer. During the transfer, all the rights of the employees in accordance with the labor legislation of the Republic of Turkey will be protected and all due payments will be made, including severance pay, unused vacation pay and notice pay, depending on the working time at the previous workplace.

These measures have been taken to ensure the continuity and quality of the work at the construction site, the compliance of Akkuyu NPP's construction works with the schedule, the protection of workers' rights in terms of working conditions, and the timely payment of wages to the workers.
