US actor Paul Sorvino, one of the sought-after names of mafia and gangster films and who took part in many Hollywood productions, passed away at the age of 83.

It was announced that the actor, who was nominated for Tony Awards for his character Paulie Cicero in the movie Goodfellas, died of natural causes.

His wife Dee Dee announced the news of the death of the famous actor. Dee Dee said, “We're heartbroken, there won't be another Paul Sorvino. He was the love of my life and he was a great actor both on stage and on the big screen.”

Paul Anthony Sorvino (born April 13, 1939 – Died July 25, 2022) was an American actor, opera singer, businessman, writer, and sculptor. He frequently portrayed authority figures on both sides of the law and is known for his roles as Paulie Cicero (based on Paul Vario) in the 1990 gangster film Goodfellas and NYPD Sergeant Phil Cerreta in the TV series Law & Order. In A Touch of Class, the Reds appeared in supporting roles in Rocketeer, Cooler, Nixon, and Romeo + Juliet. He was the father of actor Mira Sorvino and Michael Sorvino.

Sorvino has lived in Los Angeles and Madison, Indiana. He had three children: Mira, Michael, and Amanda from his first marriage to Lorraine Davis. Mira and Michael are actors.

On January 17, 2007, news reports detailed that her daughter Amanda pointed a gun in front of him after her ex-boyfriend, Daniel Snee, banged on her hotel room door and made threats. Amanda testified that Snee threatened to kill her on January 3 at a hotel in Stowe, Vermont. She said she locked herself in the bathroom and called both the police and her father. His 67-year-old father appeared before the police and gave a statement. When the police arrived, the young man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, he said. In 2007 Sorvino launched Paul Sorvino Foods to market a variety of pasta sauces. Based on her mother's recipe, the product appeared in supermarkets in the northeastern United States in late 2009. Three years later, Sorvino became a partial owner of Janson-Beckett Cosmeceuticals.

In an interview in April 2014, Sorvino said, “Most people think I'm either a gangster or a cop or something, but the truth is I'm a sculptor, a painter, a bestselling author, a lot of things – a poet, an opera. singer, but none of them are gangsters, but, you know, I obviously have a talent for stealing that kind of thing. In January 2018, Sorvino learned that Harvey Weinstein allegedly sexually harassed his daughter Mira and blacklisted her in the film industry after Weinstein denied her sexual requests. Sorvino replied to TMZ, “He's going to jail. Oh yes. That son of a bitch. It's good for him if he goes, because if he doesn't, he has to meet me. And I'm gonna kill the son of a bitch. Very simple. . I wouldn't have walked if I had known. He would be in a wheelchair. This pig will suffer. The law will take it. He will go to jail and die in prison.”

Sorvino died at the age of 25 on July 2022, 83, at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. A specific cause of death was not specified, but Sorvino's publisher said he had been "afflicted with health issues for the past few years."
