Organized by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality with the slogan '61 Countries Hand in Hand, Hayde Horona', the '2. International Horon Festival' brought together guests from all over the world in the horon ring.
On the first day of the festival, which will continue until July 61 with the slogan '31 Countries Hand in Hand, Hayde Horona', the guests gathered for a cortege walk in Atatürk Square. During the cortege march attended by representatives of 61 countries, folk dance teams performed various shows. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu also played horon with the guests. The cortege march started from Meydan and ended at the bus platforms on the beach in the direction of Uzun Sokak and Maraş Caddesi.
The cortege march hosted by Metropolitan Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu and the ceremony held in Ortahisar National Garden were attended by AK Party Trabzon Deputies Salih Cora and Bahar Ayvazoğlu, IYI Party Trabzon Deputy Hüseyin Örs, AK Party Trabzon Provincial President Sezgin Mumcu, MHP Trabzon Provincial President. Guests and citizens from 61 countries attended Bekir Sıtkı Tarım. At the International Horon Festival ceremony held in Ortahisar National Garden, the participating countries and teams were first introduced. After the presentation, the festival continued with the performances of the Mixed Groups of the countries.
WE ARE GREAT HAPPY
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality Murat Zorluoğlu stated that Trabzon is a city of culture and art and said, “Our dear guests from many parts of the world, from India to Algeria, from Palestine to Serbia, from Poland to Kosovo, Dear citizens of Trabzon, welcome to our 2nd International Horon Festival. Trabzon, as you all know, is a city of culture and art. This year, our city is experiencing one of the busiest seasons in its history in terms of tourism. Many domestic and foreign visitors have flocked to our city. As Trabzon and Trabzon residents, we are very happy about this.”
WE ARE WORKING STRONGLY FOR A MORE LIVABLE CITY
Emphasizing that he has always stated that boring cities cannot develop, Mayor Zorluoğlu said, “For this reason, we, as Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, are working diligently with our Honorable Representatives to make this city more attractive, more enjoyable and more livable. The shortest way to make this city a more enjoyable city is to increase the cultural and artistic activities and sports activities in the city. In this context, we, as the Metropolitan, are making a great effort to equip our city with cultural and artistic events, concerts, music, poetry and literature. We are starting one of the most important of these cultural and art activities together. We arrange the 2nd. We believe that it will become a traditional festival in our city for many years. Hopefully, we will spend a lot of fun times in Trabzon for 4 days at many points. We will have our fill of both Horona and kemençe. But at the same time, there will be a cultural solidarity and cultural fusion with the young people who are among us from abroad. ÖRS: A VERY BEAUTIFUL ORGANIZATION
IYI Party Trabzon Deputy Hüseyin Örs stated that the Metropolitan Municipality hosted a very nice organization and said, “I would like to thank those who contributed. We have guests from all over the world. This tribune is very important to us. It is the tribune of a football field where epics are written.”
CORA: DIFFERENT CULTURES MERGE
AK Party Trabzon Deputy Salih Cora also stated that there is a very different excitement in Trabzon and said, “A festival is being held where we will experience enthusiasm and the fusion of cultures with our guests from all over the world. Trabzon is the city of civilization. Nice activities take place. We turn it into a more livable, more fun and happy place for our nation. This place has turned into a life center dedicated to the nation.”
AYVAZOĞLU: ART IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR THIS CITY
AK Party Trabzon Deputy Bahar Ayvazoğlu said, “We are very happy to be here with you. What we call horon is just a small ring, not a game played. It is an important part of Trabzon culture. The spirit of unity develops further. Art is very important to this city. I would like to thank the team that created the organization and the Mayor of the Metropolitan Municipality. It is good that we have put this nation's garden at the service of our nation," he said.
PRESIDENT ZORLUOĞLU SAY TURKISH
After the speeches, the artist Hızır Dinçer took the stage first. Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Murat Zorluoğlu, together with Dinçer, who invited him to the stage, sang the song "You be rain, I am cloud". President Zorluoğlu's surprise was greatly appreciated, and was applauded for minutes. Ekin Uzunlar, who took the stage later, gave an unforgettable night to the festival participants with the songs she sang.
