Sony Launches New Shotgun Microphone ECM-G1

Sony presents its new small and lightweight ECM-G1 microphone, which improves the video recording standard with its high-quality audio capture feature. With its ambient sound suppression and clear front sound collection feature, it offers users the opportunity to shoot content with excellent sound quality.

Clear and high-quality sound plays an important role in the quality of video content. The ECM-G1 stands out with its large-diameter (approximately 14,6 mm) microphone capsule, its ability to collect clear sound while suppressing noise, and greatly improve video production quality.

The ECM-G1 minimizes the wind noise that may occur during shooting with the wind curtain inside. It also suppresses frequency vibration noise thanks to its anti-vibration dampers. Capturing clear and high-quality audio, the ECM-G1 is connected to a Sony camera with a multi-Interface (MI) port, and the wireless design eliminates even wire-transmitted vibration noise. With all these features, it stands out as a perfect equipment especially for vlog shooting.

Thanks to its super cardioid and ambient sound suppression features, the clear sound collected in front of the camera ensures that only the desired sounds are captured. Even in indoor shots, it reduces the echo and sound echo from the walls, ensuring clear speech sound.

MI Shoe support provides more flexibility in battery-free and wireless shooting. The power required for the microphone is supplied directly from the camera. Thus, even in horizontally opening vari-angle LCD monitors, a situation such as power cut or cable blockage is prevented.

The ECM-G1 stands out with its ultra-lightness and compactness of only 34 grams (W x H x D: 28,0 mm x 50,8 mm x 48,5 mm). In this way, it can be used easily anytime and anywhere.

Supplied with a recording cable and microphone jack is compatible with a wide variety of devices such as cameras and smartphones, giving users the ultimate flexibility for a variety of shooting needs.

Sony aims to reduce its environmental footprint to zero with its initiative called Path to Zero. In line with this goal, the plastic in the packaging of more than 1,4 million products was replaced with paper.
