'Tumor' Operation Launched Against Organized Crime Organizations

Under the coordination of the Department of Combating Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM), the "Tumor" operation was launched to arrest 9 suspects in 26 provinces against 24 organized crime groups and members of 284 crime groups that supplied weapons to these organizations.

Within the scope of the fight against organized crime organizations by the KOM Department, "Coastal Wind" in 8 provinces, "Shore Wind-9" in 2 provinces, "Scythe" in 30 provinces, and "Musilage" in 16 provinces simultaneously in April last year.

The struggle against the mafia-type organized crime groups that try to show themselves superior to the powers of the state by using the methods of pressure, force, threat and violence on the citizens and the criminal groups that supply these organizations with weapons continues under the coordination of the KOM Department.

In this context, the identities of 9 organized crime groups who were found to have committed the crimes of "Establishing an Organization to Commit a Crime" and "Loot, Usury, Threats within the Scope of the Organization's Activities", and the members of 26 crime groups that were determined to supply weapons to these organizations were identified.

After the completion of the studies, in line with the instructions of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices, Ankara, İzmir, Adana, Aydın, Afyonkarahisar, Bursa, Çanakkale, Diyarbakır, Denizli, Erzurum, Giresun, Hatay, Isparta, Karabük, Kocaeli, Konya, Muğla, Malatya, Mardin, Mersin, Nevşehir, Rize An operation called "Tumor" was launched to catch 24 suspects, against whom detention warrants were issued simultaneously, in 284 provinces in the early hours of the morning, including Istanbul, Sakarya and Osmaniye.
