A new data transmission satellite was successfully launched today from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center in Sichuan province, China.
The satellite, named Tianlian II-03, was launched into space at 3:00 local time with the Long March-30D carrier rocket.
The Tianlian II-03 satellite, as China's second-generation geosynchronous orbital data transmission satellite, will provide data transmission and telemetry, tracking and command services for manned spacecraft and low and medium orbit resource satellites. It will also provide telemetry, tracking and command support required to launch spacecraft.
With the last launch, the 426th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series was successfully accomplished.
