Internet service, which Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş describes as a 'basic human right', is becoming more and more widespread in the Capital. ABB President Mansur Yavaş, who stated that they had implemented free internet service in neighborhoods and squares with his social media accounts, said, "In line with our BLD 4.0 understanding, we are starting free internet service on the 1851 bus until the end of July."
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues to implement 'smart city' projects throughout the city.
The free internet service, which ABB President Mansur Yavaş describes as a 'fundamental human right', is becoming more and more widespread in the capital. Announcing on their social media accounts that they have started to provide free internet service in public transport now, Yavaş said, “We closely follow the requirements of the digitalized world, and we carry the free internet service that we started in our villages and squares to our EGO buses. In line with our understanding of BLD 4.0, we will start service on the 1851 bus until the end of July.”
“ONE OF THE BIGGEST FLEET PROJECTS IN EUROPE”
EGO General Directorate gradually offers internet service to the citizens of the Capital on the buses whose Wi-Fi installation has been completed.
Stating that they plan to complete the Wi-Fi installation on 1851 buses by the end of the month, EGO General Directorate Information Processing Department Head Ali Yayla gave the following information:
“With the demands of our citizens using EGO buses and the guidance of our Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, our organization's EGO General Directorate has completed our work on providing free Wi-Fi internet service in our buses, and the establishment of Wi-Fi devices has been started. Within the scope of the project, free Wi-Fi internet service will be provided to our citizens in a total of 1851 EGO buses that will be included in our fleet during the year. Our project is one of the largest fleet projects in Europe in terms of number of internet services. Our citizens will be offered 150 GB of internet per month as a start for each bus. If this quota is not sufficient, the limit may be increased.”
CONTRIBUTION TO THE ECONOMY
Expressing that the free Wi-Fi application in EGO buses will also contribute to their economy, the citizens thanked the Metropolitan Municipality with the following words:
Murat Meral: “Free internet service can be very useful as some people spend a lot of time on the bus. It takes me half an hour to get home by bus. At that time, I can get my work done with the free internet here. I use this place when I don't have my own internet. So it is a very good application.”
Silk Karaburun: “I think it's a very sensible application. Because there are people who spend a lot of time on the bus. It is a very good application for those who spend so much time in transportation.”
Yasin Ozdemir:“Very successful application. I liked it very much. In fact, everyone always spends time on the phone on the bus. We congratulate the Metropolitan Municipality.”
