The 200th International Erciyes Ultra Sky Trail Mountain Marathon, attended by 6 athletes from different countries of the world and from our country, has come to an end. Athletes had a unique running experience in the magnificent atmosphere of Erciyes for two days.
Erciyes, which has become a world-class ski resort, continues to offer extensive opportunities for mountain and nature sports such as cycling, marathon, volleyball, football, high-altitude training camp during the summer season.
Organized for the 6th time this year, the International Erciyes Ultra Sky Trail Mountain Marathon was held between 1-2 July in Kayseri Erciyes A.Ş. hosted by the Middle Earth Travel organization, with the name sponsorship of Corendon Airlines and with the support of Decathlon, Das3917 Hotel, Megasaray Hotel, Argeus Events, Zuber, Meysu, Hüma Hospital, SPX, Merrell.
200 athletes from Turkey, France, Russia and Tajikistan participated in the Erciyes Ultra Sky Trail races, which turned the eyes of the running community to Erciyes and became one of the most important races of our country. Participants competed in 2 different stages, 64K, 45K, 25K, 12K and Vertical Kilometer VK, for 5 days.
The first day of the races, which is also included in the calendar of the International Trail Running Association (ITRA) and the International Skyrunning Federation, was completed with the Vertical Kilometer (VK) stage, which is the highest vertical run in Europe. In this stage, Oğuzhan Emre Singer came first, Hakan Akay second and Abdullah Özdemir third in men. In women's category, Rezeda Galyamova came first, Beyza Güzel came second and Serpil Budak came third.
In the 64K stage, which was run on the second day of the races, Cevdet Alyılmaz came first, Mehmet Arslan second, Mehmet Zahir Kül third in men, Deniz Çiçek became the first in women, Beste Gün Aslan was the second and Özden Sertkaya was the third. In this stage, the athletes ran 360 degrees all around Erciyes and resisted both the difficult terrain and the long distance.
In the 45K stage, Sergey Abramov came first in men, Umut Çavuşoğlu and Selim Korkmaz came third, while Rezeda Galyamova came first in women, and Halide Kaya came in second and Büşra Genç was third. In the 45-kilometer-long stage included in the race calendar for the first time, the athletes ran from the ancient city of Gereme, one of the mystical cities of Byzantium and located at the foot of Erciyes.
In the 25K race, which started from Sarıgöl and completed in Tekir Kapı region, Oğuzhan Emre Singer was first, Abdullah Özdemir was second, Buğrahan Cemil Uslu was third in men, while Serpil Budak was first, Beyza Güzel was second, and Alesya Livanova was third in women.
In the 12-kilometer race from Hacılar Kapı to Tekir Kapı, Metin Keleş came first, Ali Akaydın second, and Burakhan Öztaş third. In this category, Itır Atadiyen came first, Yaren Demirdöğenler second, and Merve Köksel third.
At the end of the competitions, the medals and cups of the award ceremony organized for the athletes who ranked in the competition were presented to the Mayor of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç, Rector of Kayseri University Prof. Dr. Kurtulus Karamustafa, Kayseri Erciyes A.Ş. Direction. Exchange rate. President Dr. Murat Cahid Cıngı, Kayseri Provincial Culture and Tourism Director Dr. Şükrü Dursun was presented by Corendon Airlines Corporate Communications and Marketing Officer Beata Modrzejewska.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Memduh Büyükkılıç said, “Our efforts to make our Erciyes not only a ski resort but also a center for both individual and group sports continue rapidly. We take pleasure in the understanding that the investments we make are correct. We also show the will to do more. Sport means peace, brotherhood, solidarity, tolerance and friendship. I would like to congratulate the friends who ranked in that respect, I hope that I would like to thank the friends from different countries and our souls from different provinces in our country who visited us to breathe and store this beautiful air of our Erciyes. I congratulate all of you, those who did not enter the rankings," he said.
