Work continues on the use of aircraft belonging to the Turkish Armed Forces as a "Reserve Force" in the fight against forest fires. Military Factory and Shipyard Operations Inc. (ASFAT), a subsidiary of the Ministry of National Defense, started preparations with two separate contracts signed for the new implementation. With the said contracts, it was decided that the materials, equipment and training needed by the General Directorate of Forestry in the fight against fires would be provided by ASFAT.
GREEN HOMELAND WILL BE PROTECTED BY DOMESTIC AND NATIONAL PRODUCTION FIRE KITS
Within the scope of the agreement; ASFAT produced 20 fire buckets with a capacity of 30 tons, 2.5 of which were at Turkish military factories, 5 fire buckets with a capacity of 7 tons, 7.5 of which were at Turkish military factories, and 7 helicopter hook kits for the General Directorate of Forestry.
In addition, boxes fired from C-130 aircraft and used for aerial firefighting are supplied by ASFAT. Within the scope of the contract, "Fire Fighting Training" was also given to the pilots for the use of this system. It is planned that the production of fire extinguishing boxes will be carried out in the military factories of the Ministry of National Defense in a short time.
