The campus, which Bornova Municipality has completely renovated and turned into a modern treatment and rehabilitation center for street souls, was opened with a ceremony.

Reminding that the opinions of animal lovers were taken at every stage while the campus was being prepared, Mayor İduğ said, “We have a team that works hard for our dear friends. I wish our campus to be beneficial to our dear friends and all Bornova.”

Stating that they saw that the operating room and care areas in the center were not sufficient when they took office, President İduğ said, "We are happy to open this campus where we can apply a better and more comfortable treatment and rehabilitation to our dear friends with whom we share our house, park and street."

Capacity increased, conditions improved

In the Can Dostları Campus, where the Rehabilitation Center of the Veterinary Affairs Directorate has been completely renovated, the number of paddocks where dogs are cared for has been increased from 17 to 40. In addition to the promenades added to the paddocks, an additional promenade area for puppies was also built. The area built for puppies was named “Can Dostlar Kindergarten”. A new cat clinic named 'Cat House' has also been added to the campus. A food warehouse and a material warehouse were built. Staff rest room. Added administrative building and waiting room for citizens. The infrastructure problem of the Campus has also been completely resolved.

In addition to animal lovers, Animal Rights Federation (HAYTAP) directors Esin Önder and Şule Baylan, CHP Bornova District President Ertürk Çapın, Bornova Municipality vice presidents, council members, headmen, and Red Crescent Bornova Branch President Cemil Kurkut also attended the opening ceremony of the Campus.

Services continue uninterrupted

Bornova Municipality Veterinary Affairs Directorate continues its examination and sterilization services at Büyükpark Cat Clinic, and examination and emergency response services at Can Dostları Campus in Pınarbaşı. Appointed neutering of street animals, followed by animal lovers, is done regularly.

In this context, from January 2022 to the beginning of June, 62 thousand 427 friends were treated in Bornova, and 16 thousand 725 people were sterilized. 517 cats and dogs were adopted. 3 thousand 200 friends were vaccinated.
