Having undersigned the longest span suspension bridge in the world with the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge, Yapı Merkezi has now undertaken the construction of a new phase of Africa's longest railway, signing the longest railway work in the world for a Turkish company. After the successful work on the first and second phases of the Tanzania Dar es Salaam - Mwanza Railway line, Yapı Merkezi also took on the construction of the third phase of the project last December, and in a short time like 7 months, it also undertook the work of the 4th phase of the same project. Yapı Merkezi plans to complete this $900 million project in 42 months. In addition to all infrastructure works in the turnkey single track railway project in Tanzania; Yapı Merkezi has undertaken all of the 3 stations, maintenance workshop and warehouse area between the cities of Tabora and Isaka, the construction of the Railway Institute, the construction of the 165 km single-track railway together with the side lines, signaling, telecom and electrification.

The project, which is the 1.211th phase of the 4 km railway that will connect Dar es Salaam and Mwanza when completed, is also of key importance for the Tabora – Kigoma railway line to the Burundi border, which is also included in the investment program of Tanzania Railways (TRC). .
