Ankara Metropolitan Launches Workshop Training Program for Children

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality launched the “Workshop for Children” program for ABB Kids Club members in cooperation with Ankara Development Agency and Usturlab Experience Center. In order to facilitate children's access to astronomy, science, nature, art and technology education, approximately 7 children aged 12-800 will be provided with free education support at the end of the project.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its education and social responsibility projects without slowing down in order to instill art, science and technology at a young age with “student-friendly” practices.

In cooperation with the Ankara Development Agency and the Usturlab Experience Center, ABB launched a "Workshop for Children" for approximately 7 children aged 12-800, who are members of the Metropolitan Municipality Children's Club.

GOAL: TO BRING NATURE AND ART TO CHILDREN WITH TECHNOLOGICAL MATERIALS

With this project, ABB and the Usturlab Experience Center aim to make the philosophy, art and scientific production process more accessible and to accompany nature's journey in this age; It aims to bring disadvantaged children together with science and technology by bringing science to the streets, games, cities and school desks.

Ayşe Ersöz Ekizoğlu, Education Director of Usturlab Experience Center, shared the following information about the training program:

“Since 2010, we have been accompanying the adventure of philosophy, art, nature and science. We bring our children together with quality education by organizing workshop trainings, museums, board games and workshop trainings. Our aim is to bring disadvantaged children together with Usturlab qualified education as a social responsibility project. We will provide free education support to children from ABB for 4 days by our volunteer trainers.”

Nagehan Topcu, Child Services Branch Coordinator of the Women's and Family Services Department, pointed out that the project will contribute to the education of children in the Capital, and said, “We are bringing approximately 800 children from our ABB Children's Clubs to Usturlab to benefit from these workshops. The purpose of this project is to provide children with information about art, science and basic sciences during the summer and to have them have a pleasant time.

CHILDREN LEARN SCIENCE, NATURE AND ART WITH FUN

The free education, which was given for the first time on July 20-21, will continue on July 27-28, 2022 to facilitate children's access to qualified astronomy, science, nature, art and technology education.

Children from Başkent, who participated in the trainings voluntarily given by students studying at Ankara Social Sciences University and studying at the Usturlab Experience Center, shared their thoughts with the following words:

Earth Rock: “We studied the characteristics and anatomy of animals. I am happy to spend my summer vacation here. It is a fun educational process for me.”

Merve Naz Ergisi: “Here we drew, painted and cut rabbits on paper. Time passes very well here. This is how I meet new friends.”
