One of our problems is with housing. Roman citizens are forced to live in houses that lack hygienic conditions. Substance abuse has also become a serious problem. As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we are trying to support them by taking the activities that will direct them to sports and art to their neighborhoods. We are creating special programs to include Romani youth in sports and cultural activities.”

“We will be able to strengthen the wings of the Roma community”

Very important steps are being taken in İzmir. Perhaps we will strengthen the wings of the Roma community. All the work done in Turkey will grow like a snowball.”
