Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started street activities this year, too, so that children can make the most of their summer vacation. On Tuesdays Bornova and KarşıyakaThe events, which will be held alternately in İnciraltı City Forest and between Quarantine Square and Kültürpark on Thursdays, will continue for 10 weeks.
Street activities in line with the “child-friendly city” goal of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality “Games and our streets!” It starts with the slogan. Within the scope of the activities organized by the Family and Child Services Branch of the Social Projects Department, children will have fun while learning at 2 points, 4 days a week. While aiming to create a cultural memory in children with traditional games in the activities accompanied by expert trainers, fine and gross motor skills of children will be developed through recycling, games, music, art, creative drama and street games workshops.
No age range requirement
Street events will be held between July 25 and September 30 for 10 weeks, between 19.00 and 21.00. On Tuesdays, Bornova Büyükpark and Karşıyaka It will be held in the vicinity of the Marriage Office, in Inciraltı City Forest on Thursdays, and in Quarantine Square and Kulturpak alternately. An average of fifty children will be able to participate in outdoor activities. There is no age requirement for events.
Access to the right to play
With the street activities organized to ensure that children spend active time on the street during the summer months when schools are on vacation, it is aimed to support the psycho-social, physical and cognitive development of children, to spend time with their peers, to have the right to play and to socialize in the open space.
