The Metropolitan Municipality, which provided training in three portable pools last year, has established seven pools this time. Swimming training started in the pools in Konak, Bornova, Beydağ, Menemen, Kiraz and Çiğli.

Trainings started in the pools of Pazaryeri and Kadifekale in Konak, Meriç in Bornova, Yakakent in Çiğli, Leylak in Beydağ, İsmet İnönü in Menemen and Yeni in Kiraz.

10 thousand children will be given swimming training
Hakan Orhunbilge, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, said, “What our Bronze President specifically wanted from us was to increase the number of pools. During the winter, we worked on the establishment of portable pools in outlying districts. This summer, we will have given swimming training to approximately 7 thousand children in 10 pools in total.”

Yasin Gezgen, who is a trainer at the portable pool opened in Beydağ, stated that he volunteered for this job and said, “We are working to teach and make children love swimming. Our students are also very enthusiastic and started to learn. Our registration is still ongoing. We will do our best to bring new champions out in the coming years," he said.

The portable pool project also made the families happy. Mehmet Yılmaz, who brought his child to the pool, said, “We are very happy with the pool. We thank our municipality," he said. Bircan Yalçın said, “It has been very good for our children, we are happy”. Nazan Değirmenci also stated that there was no such service before and said: “It is a very good feeling. There was a difference for the children. There were times when we could not go to the sea. Many thanks to our President Tunç. What else?”
Swimming lessons are given to children aged 6-13.
Swimming training will be given to children between the ages of 6 and 13 for two months in portable pools. With the project, it is aimed that children have fun, increase their self-confidence and joy of life, and also contribute to their physical, mental and social development.
