Chinese President Xi Jinping and Italian President Sergio Mattarella each sent a congratulatory message to the exhibition titled “The Roots of Italy-Ancient Roman Civilization” opened in Beijing today.
In his message, Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Italy are distinguished representatives of Eastern and Western civilizations, and emphasized that the rich accumulation of Italian culture is shown with interesting historical artifacts in the exhibition.
Xi Jinping stated that China is ready to work with the international community to promote the concept of civilization based on the principles of equality, mutual sharing, dialogue and inclusiveness, and to work towards building a community of common destiny for humanity.
In his message, Sergio Mattarella pointed out that cultural cooperation is an important part of the Italian-Chinese friendship and noted that only through solidarity and cooperation can fair and lasting solutions be found to the problems facing the international community.
Mattarella stated that they believe that Italy and China will contribute to the preservation of peace and stability in the world by constantly strengthening bilateral relations.
