Rail transport in Asia Pacific countries and the issue of international multimodal routes were discussed at a meeting held in Kyrgyzstan.
The meeting of the railway administrations constituting the Asia Pacific countries was held in Cholpon-Ata city of Kyrgyzstan.
The heads and representatives of the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, Turkey and the Azerbaijan logistics company attended the meeting.
Hasan Pezük, General Manager of TCDD Transport, who attended the meeting as a speaker on behalf of Turkey: "As a member of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route Union, which was established for transports to Kazakhstan, Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey and other European countries starting from Southeast Asia and China, Baku - Both our Government and our railway administrations are making a great effort so that the Tbilisi-Kars Railway Line and the Middle Corridor, which is called the Iron Silk Road, will contribute to world trade more effectively and efficiently. Considering that the world trade, which was 2020 billion tons in 12, is expected to reach 2030 billion tons in 25 and 2050 billion tons in 95, it will be possible to realize this trade in a healthy, economical, safe and fast manner only with the establishment of appropriate transportation systems.
Pezuk stated that the meeting is of great importance in order to ensure a sustainable increase in the transportation in the Middle Corridor, which was established for this purpose, and that the relevant institutions of the sector, especially the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of our country, make great efforts to make the BTK Railway Line and the Middle Corridor more effective and efficient. He said he was making an effort.
TCDD Transport General Manager Pezük: 'We came together with the railway administrations of the countries in the region in Kyrgyzstan for the further development of the Asia Pacific countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe multi-modal route. As a result of our meetings with the railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia and Azerbaijan, we signed a protocol covering the measures to be taken for the further development of the railway-road multi-modal route between Asia-Europe. We successfully carry out logistics operations in different geographies of the world.' he said.
Pezuk also said, 'We are working together with the relevant units of our Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure to achieve the freight transport targets in the 2053 logistics master plan and to make our country a logistics base.' said.
President of the Kyrgyzstan Railways Authority, Azamat Sakiyev, emphasized the importance of the event that will expand the scope of cargo transportation in Asia-Pacific countries.
Sakiyev noted that their annual meeting shows that they already serve as an effective platform for solving existing problems to strengthen the interaction between railway administrations, logistics companies and other route participants.
The participants discussed the implementation results of the project on the international multi-modal route, which envisages road and rail transport in Asia-Pacific countries.
As a result of the event, a protocol was signed reflecting the measures for the further development of the multimodal route “Asia Pacific countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe”.
