2025 National Electric High Speed ​​​​Train Sets Will Be Delivered to TCDD by the End of 8

Design studies for Turkey's first domestic engine with 8 cylinders and 1.200 horsepower to be used in rail system vehicles have been completed. In the National Electric High Speed ​​​​Train Set Project, it is planned to produce prototypes in 2023 and to deliver 2025 train sets to TCDD by the end of 8.

According to the news of Cevdet Fırat Aydoğmuş from Türkiye Newspaper; Metin Yaşar, General Manager of Turkey Rail System Vehicles (TÜRASAŞ), which plays a major role in the creation of the national and domestic railway industry, informed the deputies about their projects. Yaşar said that the rail system domestic engine, developed in cooperation with TÜBİTAK, TCDD, Marmara University and the private sector, will be a unique engine with a national design.

Design work on Turkey's first domestic engine with 8 cylinders and 1.200 horsepower to be used in rail system vehicles has been completed. Stating that Turkey's first rail system domestic engine will eliminate foreign dependency, Yaşar said, "The design studies for the project have been completed, and the analysis and procurement studies are continuing."

Stating that they foresee that Turkey will need more than 10 thousand urban rail system vehicles in the next 7 years, Yaşar said, “It is of great importance that the need for an urban rail system of this size is produced domestically. In this context, we have included our metro vehicle project in our investment plan," he said.

THREE SETS ARE FINISHED ON THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC TRAIN

Yaşar said that the production of three prototype sets in the National Electric Train Set Project has been completed, and it is planned to deliver three train sets this year and 2024 train sets to TCDD by the end of 19. Stating that the design studies for the National High Speed ​​​​Train Set Project with a speed of 225 kilometers per hour will be completed in 2022, Yaşar noted that it is planned to deliver eight high-speed train sets by the end of 2026.

Stating that they continue to work to eliminate foreign dependency in Electric Mainline Locomotive production with national design and advanced technology, Yaşar said, "It is planned to complete the prototype production in 2022 and deliver 2024 locomotives by the end of 20."
