Kim Ruymbeke Named UPS Eastern Europe Region President

UPS announces the appointment of Kim Ruymbeke as President of Eastern Europe. Ruymbeke became the first woman in the company's history to hold this position. In his new role, Ruymbeke will be responsible for package operations in some of Europe's fastest growing markets and will work to meet the growing demands of e-commerce, helping to better connect the region to key export markets both in Europe and around the world.

Ruymbeke began his career at UPS in 2003 as the company's chief financial officer in Belgium. He subsequently held various leadership roles, including the European Region Headquarters in Brussels and the UPS Global Headquarters in Atlanta. In his previous role, Ruymbeke was vice president of finance and accounting for the European Region, leading the European Financial Planning and Analysis strategy.

Regarding his appointment as the Eastern Europe President, Kim Ruymbeke said: “Developing global trade is very important if we are to create a more inclusive, sustainable and successful economy. Eastern Europe has a high workforce and many growing industries. As the first woman to take charge of this position, it is an honor to lead a team dedicated to driving export growth for businesses in this region.”

Talking about Turkey's potential and its activities there, Ruymbeke said: “We have been in Turkey for many years and Turkey is one of the biggest markets for us among the regions in which we operate in Europe. We trust Turkey's potential and make investments accordingly. We will continue to do our best to support our customers in Turkey to open up to the world.”

UPS supports women in business and the economy

UPS is implementing the UPS Women Exporter Program together with the Women Entrepreneurs Association of Turkey (KAGIDER) and the Foundation for the Evaluation of Women's Work (KEDV) to help women cross borders, overcome challenges, and create new futures by expanding their businesses to global markets.

With 46 percent of its Board of Directors composed of women, UPS aims to have women account for 2022 percent of all management positions globally by the end of 28.
