Metro Istanbul, one of the subsidiaries of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), is opening its doors to Istanbulites this summer. The company, which will organize the second Open Air Cinema Days event between 19 July-25 August at Metro Istanbul Esenler Campus, will host the “Summer School in Metro Istanbul” event for children and their mothers between 27 June and 26 August.

The second of the Open Air Cinema Days event, the first of which was held in Metro Istanbul's Esenler Campus last year and attended by more than 6.000 citizens, will be held every Tuesday and Thursday at 19 between 25 July-20.30 August. Participation in the Open Air Cinema Days event, where 300 people can attend each film screening, will be free, and free popcorn and beverages will be served to moviegoers.
Free summer school for mothers and children
Bringing children together with various activities during the semester holidays for two years, Metro Istanbul will organize Summer School at Metro Istanbul for children and their mothers in Esenler Campus between 27 June and 26 August. In the “Summer School in Metro Istanbul” program, which consists of 2 periods of 4 weeks each, trainings such as M-Çiftçi, aikido, basketball, caricature and comic book drawing are provided for children, while mothers participate in activities such as face yoga and clay pot making and various activities. You can attend the seminars free of charge.
Metro Istanbul General Manager Özgür Soy stated that they were particularly pleased with the interest shown by Esenler residents to the public events they started to organize last year, and said, “The Open Air Cinema Days was an event for Istanbulites, who were overwhelmed by the pandemic last year, to have a pleasant time in the open air as a family. We watched movies with more than 2 people in Esenler for 6.000 months. This year, we expanded the scope of our summer activities with the decrease of the effects of the pandemic. For the first time, we will organize a summer school event in Esenler campus for children from Istanbul and their mothers. During the holiday, children and their mothers will both have a pleasant time and experience various activities in many fields from sports to handicrafts.

Informing that they will implement the events in cooperation with İBB's subsidiaries, Özgür Soy said, “This business comes out as a result of a team effort with the power of İBB. We prepared a fun and instructive summer activity for our children and their mothers by getting support from İSTAÇ in the recycling workshop, from Ağaç ve Peyzaj AŞ in M-Çiftçi, from Enstitü İstanbul İSMEK for safe internet and healthy kitchen seminars, and from Spor İstanbul in the amusement park. . I would like to thank the employees of all our subsidiary companies who contributed. We, as Metro Istanbul, host nearly 2 and a half million passengers in our stations and vehicles every day.
