Temsa and Çukurova University Collaboration

Within the scope of the TEMSA Art project implemented by TEMSA and Çukurova University, students created more than 1,5 works of art by using waste and scrap materials with a total weight of 20 tons that emerged during the bus production processes.

TEMSA, which places sustainability at the core of all its activities, has undertaken a very important awareness project together with Çukurova University. Within the scope of the TEMSA Art project, the students of Çukurova University Painting Education Department turned the waste and scrap materials that emerged in the production processes of TEMSA into works of art. Approximately 20 of the resulting works were exhibited at a special event held at TEMSA's Istanbul Altunizade campus. Hosted by TEMSA CEO Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu, the event was attended by Sabancı Holding CEO Cenk Alper, Sabancı Group and TEMSA executives and business representatives.

VILLAGE SCHOOLS WILL BE RENOVED WITH SALES REVENUE

Artworks, in which a total of 1,5 tons of waste and scrap consisting of paper and cardboard packaging, metals, styrofoam, plastics, wooden cases and scrap wooden parts, cables, electronic waste, metals, plastic packaging and copper materials are used, is one of the most important elements of today's sustainability approach. It also aims to raise awareness about the circular economy.

On the other hand, the income obtained from the works, some of which were donated within the scope of the organization, will be donated to the Dream Partners Association, which was founded by TEMSA employees, and will be used for the renovation of village schools through the Association.

Making evaluations on the subject, TEMSA CEO Tolga Kaan Doğancıoğlu stated that the project in question clearly reflects TEMSA's sustainability vision, and said, “As it is very clearly drawn in Sabancı's Community Promise and sustainability roadmap; we do not look at sustainability from just one perspective. As TEMSA, while promoting sustainable business models, especially with our electric vehicles, we also take steps to solve the climate emergency with the awareness we have created on the circular economy; We increase our positive impact on society and humanity with the healing power of art. These works, which reflect the creativity of our students, are also a 'symbol of awakening' for each of us. We will continue to lead this awakening in our industry. We see this as our biggest responsibility for both our world and our country.”

Continuing its activities as a subsidiary of Sabancı Holding and PPF Group, TEMSA plays a leading role in the spread of electric buses in Turkey and in the world, in line with its sustainability approach. As of today, TEMSA, which has made 4 different electric bus models ready for mass production, has put its electric buses on the roads in different geographies of the world, from the USA to the Czech Republic, from Spain to Sweden. In the upcoming period, TEMSA will continue to implement projects and practices that will increase its positive impact on society and humanity, while supporting sustainable business models.
