Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that 603 thousand 864 applications were received for Teaching Career Levels Education, and 533 thousand 359 of these applications were made in the field of specialist teaching and 70 thousand 505 in the field of head teacher.
According to the Teaching Career Stages Exam Schedule, as of June 15, 2022, the process of receiving objections to the results of the evaluation made by the provincial evaluation commission has begun. Appeals will be completed by 21 June and will be finalized on 5 July. Those who will participate in the training program will be announced on July 7, 2022.
Making an assessment on Teaching Career Levels Education, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer shared the following information: “603 thousand 864 applications were received for the Teaching Career Levels Training. 533 thousand 359 of these applications were made in the field of specialist teaching and 70 thousand 505 in the field of head teacher. 280 thousand 9 applications were received from teachers in private education institutions, 724 of them for head teacher positions and 10 thousand 4 for specialist teachers.
Stating that as the Ministry, they will continue to strive to increase the reputation of teachers in the society, Minister Özer said, “We will continue to support our teachers in every way. Continuing their professional development is our top priority. From now on, our teachers will be able to advance on the career ladder and will have new personal rights, especially a salary increase, in line with the new titles they have won. Specialist teacher training, 18 July-5 September; Head teacher training will take place between 18 July and 19 September.
Written exam applications will be accepted between September 26 and October 3. The Teaching Career Stages Exam will be held on 19 November in 81 provinces. Exam results will be announced on 12 December 2022.
The certificates of the teachers who are entitled to receive certificates will be issued on January 4, 2023, and teachers who have the title of expert teacher/head teacher will benefit from the education and training compensation stipulated for these titles as of January 15, 2023.
As of the last day of the written exam application date, teachers who had 10 years of service in teaching, including candidacy, applied to the Specialist Teacher Training Program, and specialist teachers who had at least 10 years of service as a specialist teacher, as of the last day of the written exam application date, applied to the Head Teacher Education Program.
Provincial commissions established within the framework of the Regulation on Novice Teachers and Teaching Career Steps evaluated whether the applicants for the Specialist Teaching and Headteacher Training Program, among those who work as teachers/specialist teachers in official education institutions affiliated to the Ministry, meet the requirements.
Professional development studies, which is one of the conditions sought for teachers/expert teachers who will apply for the titles of specialist teacher and head teacher, are "Education, Training and Guidance" in such a way that all branch / field teachers working in official education institutions and private education institutions under the Ministry can do at least one of their duties in each field. Its studies were determined as three areas, namely Management Participation Studies and Research and Development Studies.
Those who will apply for the title of specialist teacher / head teacher among teachers / specialist teachers working in official education institutions and private education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education will have to complete at least one of the three fields of study in order to complete their professional development studies.
