Engine Surprise from TEI to TAFF Board of Directors

TAFF Board of Directors visited TEI, the leading company in aviation engines in our country, on 6 June 2022.

Head of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, Secretary General of the National Security Council Seyfullah Hacımüftüoğlu, Eskişehir Governor Erol Ayyıldız, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology Hasan Büyükdede, TAFF Board Member Retired Gen. Ümit Dündar, TAFF Board Member Cenap Aşcı, TAFF Deputy General Manager Sadık Piyade, THK Trustee Committee President Abdullah Kaya and accompanying delegations attended the facility tour, TEI General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors Prof. Dr. Mahmut F. Akşit gave information about the projects carried out by TEI.

Engine Surprise from TEI to TAFF Board of Directors

During the visit, the one-to-one scale model of Turkey's first national turbofan engine TEI-TF2, which came to the prototype production stage after nearly 6000 years of design work, was exhibited for the first time as a surprise to the participants. The TEI-TF6.000 Turbofan Engine and its derivatives, which can produce thrust up to 10.000 lbs (~6000 lbs with afterburner), can be used on different national platforms from aircraft to ships. The engine, which was designed to support the afterburner configuration in the current design, will be able to reach the necessary powers for supersonic (supersonic) flights with the afterburner.
