DHMİ R&D Projects Attract Great Interest at the World Air Traffic Management Fair

WORLD ATM CONGRESS, where DHMI ATM R&D products and systems are exhibited, started in Madrid. Deputy General Manager Enes Çakmak, Head of Inspection Board Erdinç Kahraman, Head of Air Navigation Department Özcan Durukan, Head of Electronics Department Orhan Gültekin and other officials attended the fair, which will last for 21 days between 23-2022 June 3.

Domestic and national R&D projects exhibited at the DHMI stand, which has been flooded by visitors, attract great attention.

Our Organization, which has become a world brand with the biggest projects in the history of the Republic, passenger-friendly airport operation and air traffic management, which it has implemented in the last 20 years, successfully manages the Turkish Airspace of approximately 1 million km2; It implements many R&D projects in partnership with TÜBİTAK BİLGEM. These domestic and national projects, which minimize foreign dependency and contribute to the economy, are highly appreciated in domestic and international fairs.

ATM R&D products, which were exhibited at the Madrid fair and introduced to the visitors by expert teams, are as follows:

Air Traffic Control Simulator System (atcTRsim), where Air Traffic Control training can be given at all levels, especially Airport Control, Approach and Road Control,

National Surveillance Radar (MGR), Turkey's first domestic radar system to be used in the field of Civil Aviation.

National FOD Detection Radar System (FODRAD), supported by millimeter wave radar and optical sensors, in order to increase the flight safety level in PAT (Runway, Apron, Taxiway) areas,

A completely indigenous Bird Radar System (KUŞRAD) developed for the purpose of preventing bird hazards in critical areas of airports, determining the migration routes of migratory birds around the airport and arranging landing/departure traffic operations according to determined bird hazards.
