President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan inaugurated Boğaziçi University Kandilli Science, Technology and Research Building. Noting that the building, called the "deep technology base", will make very important contributions to the country's research, development and innovation ecosystem, President Erdoğan stated that he sees this technology base as a part of his vision for a national technology move.

TRANSFORMATION OF KNOWLEDGE INTO TECHNOLOGY

Emphasizing that Turkey is getting closer to using its real capacity in original research activities, as in every field, President Erdoğan noted that the center, which will be opened and which will be devoted to incubation centers all working for research and development activities, will add strength to the country by transforming the knowledge produced into technology.

MINISTRY SUPPORTED

Stating that some of the infrastructures in the deep technology base were established with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Erdoğan said, “For example, one of them is the work that will reduce our country's dependence on fossil fuels, which can be applied in many fields from biofuels to food supplements, from animal feed to fertilizers. Studies for the effective use of natural resources, which will also support our country's zero waste target with climate change and environmental protection, will be carried out in this unit.” he said.

Explaining that another supported study is the research and development support laboratories project for SMEs producing drugs, vaccines and medical devices for the health sector, Erdoğan said, “Our life sciences center, where these studies will be carried out, our infrastructure and qualified human resources, is one of the proud technology brands of our country. will be. Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank stated that they have added a new step to the steps they have taken so far and said, “We are bringing a very important work to Boğaziçi University, the shining star of our R&D ecosystem. We are opening the Science, Technology and Research Building, which was built with the financing provided from the central budget and whose value exceeds 100 million TL with current figures. This place was designed as a technology base to solve the space problem in current and new research projects of the Bosphorus. Two blocks of the center are home to deep technology labs. These laboratories were established with the support of our public institutions. As the Ministry of Industry and Technology, we supported the creation of two important infrastructures at the Life Sciences Center, which carries out its activities here.” he said.

95 MILLION TL SUPPORT

Noting that the other important project they supported at the center they opened was the Life Sciences R&D Support Laboratories Project, Varank said, “With the project we supported for 95 million lira, we ensured the establishment of laboratories necessary for the production of drugs, vaccines and medical devices used in cancer treatment. With the outstanding efforts of our researcher professors, world-renowned researches in cancer treatment are carried out successfully in Boğaziçi.” said.

VISIT SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY AND RESEARCH BUILDING

In the ceremony area, the promotional film of the Kandilli Science and Technology Building was watched. After his speech at the ceremony, President of Boğaziçi University Naci İnci presented a painting to Erdoğan. President Erdoğan cut the opening ribbon of the building with his entourage and lecturers. After the opening, Erdoğan and the participants visited the Kandilli Science, Technology and Research Building. Erdogan also signed the book of honor on the ground floor.

Then, “Research Experience” was started at the Life Sciences and Technologies Application Research Center (LifeSci) Laboratories. The prepared sample was placed in the SEC device and the result of the sample was shown on the screen of the device.
