CUPRA shared its plans for the future at an event in Terramar, Sitges, where the brand was born four years ago. Our target is to sell 2025 thousand vehicles annually until 500 and to continue to be included in new segments as well as expanding into new international markets. The incredible journey of CUPRA

CUPRA Ateca was the first model to embody the character of the CUPRA brand, which started its journey in 2018 by a few people with the aim of reinventing contemporary sportiness.

Two years after this unique model in its segment, the CUPRA Leon was introduced to the market. In addition to being the brand's first model to feature a wide range of powerful engines, it was also the first electric CUPRA model, thanks to its high-performance plug-in hybrid engine.

This was followed by the first standalone model, the CUPRA Formentor. The Crossover SUV is still the brand's best-selling model, with nearly 100 units delivered worldwide so far.

The brand's product range was then added to the CUPRA Born, which is 100 percent electric and provides a perfect match between electrification and performance.

New era with new heroes

At the CUPRA Unstoppable Impulse event, he also gave information about the new models that he will introduce to the market in the future.

The first of the models is the CUPRA Terramar, the brand's first all-electric SUV.

CUPRA Terramar, a fully sporty electric SUV with its bold and striking design, will carry the brand to the active point of the SUV segment, Europe's fastest growing segment. CUPRA Terramar, which will be produced at Audi's Györ factory in Hungary, will be offered for sale with a new generation plug-in hybrid powertrain capable of speeding up to 100 km in full electric mode, as well as ICE versions.

The new sporty hybrid SUV, named after Terramar, where everything started for the CUPRA brand, is a candidate to offer a unique experience with the latest technology, thanks to the driver-oriented interior concept created by considering how the driver will feel. CUPRA DNA will be represented in one of the most competitive segments with this 4,5 meter long SUV.

A dream come true: CUPRA Tavascan

The next stop of CUPRA's journey to the future is CUPRA Tavascan. Adopting the electric vision of CUPRA, the model will remain loyal to the concept introduced in 2019. CUPRA Tavascan, which was introduced in 2021 with some design clues, not only captures the vision of contemporary electrification, but also globalizes the brand by carrying CUPRA to new markets. The model is targeted to be introduced to the market in 2024.

The tradition-defying CUPRA UrbanRebel

CUPRA plans to launch its Urban Electric Car, UrbanRebel, on the road in 2025. UrbanRebel, which will take CUPRA far beyond its traditional limits, was designed and developed for a more rebellious electric world. The front-wheel drive model uses Volkswagen Group's MEB Small platform to deliver a high-performance urban car.

CUPRA UrbanRebel, which is seen as the key to CUPRA's return to an all-electric brand, is seen as the biggest project of the brand in the coming years. It will also lead the development of the cluster, a family of vehicles that will promote sustainable urban mobility for different brands within the Volkswagen Group.

The 4,03 m long model is made of recycled polymers and bio-based materials, as if proving environmentally friendly.

The lightweight design both outside and inside helps the vehicle reach 226 km/h in just 166 seconds thanks to its 6,9HP (100 kW) electric motor, providing a range of up to 440 km.

CUPRA UrbanRebel, designed and developed in Barcelona, ​​is targeted to be launched in 2025. UrbanRebel, which means more than an automobile for the CUPRA brand, is seen as a model that will popularize electric mobility.

Spain will become the hub of electric mobility

Information about the future plans of the brand was also given at the event. Aiming to transform Spain into Europe's center for electric mobility with the Future: Fast Forward project, CUPRA has also established a group of 62 national and international partners for this purpose.

CUPRA, which recently introduced the project to be realized in Spain with an investment of 10 billion Euros together with Volkswagen Group and Future: Fast Forward partners, has also signed the largest industrial investment in Spain's history.

CUPRA CEO Wayne Griffiths said: “We know exactly where we want to go. And I promise you that every single model we bring to market will not be boring, it will be one step ahead in our journey. We will stay true to ourselves and be authentic, that is the spirit of the CUPRA Tribe. We will do it CUPRA style as we always do. The future is electricity. The future is CUPRA,” he said.
