CHP Trabzon Deputy Ahmet Kaya brought up the Erzincan-Trabzon railway issue in the TCDD meetings of the GNAT Committee.
“The representatives of the AKP government said that it will end in 2023. 1 year left but nothing. No one has a clear idea about the project. We have seen by experience that this promise consists of a story. The politicians deceived the people of the Black Sea about the railway. As the bureaucrats of the state, I want to hear the truth about the Erzincan-Trabzon Railway project from you. Erzincan. What happened to our Trabzon railway?” He called TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük.
“IT WAS SAID THAT IT WILL END IN 2023, THE 2053 VISION PROJECT HAS BEEN PROMISED”
“You don't shut up, it doesn't help if you say it. I'm at that point actually." Kaya started his words by saying, “We talk at every meeting, as you know, there is an Erzincan-Trabzon railway story. I say 'story' because it has always been talked about for about 7-8 years, even our AK Party Trabzon deputy friends 'Good news for Trabzon.' they presented it. Former AK Party Mayor Orhan Bey 'We laid the foundations, we prepared the project, the railway will come to Trabzon very soon.' he promised. Then Mr. Binali Yıldırım came out and said, “We will finish this railway until 2023.” he said, he was then Prime Minister. The words of each of them are in our memory and in the records. But the year is 2022, no one has any idea what's going on with the project. I looked at the booklet during the budget negotiations of the Ministry of Transport. It says in the booklet: 'The line at the project stage of 2029 is one of the lines planned to be built in 2053 as well.' Are they kidding us?" said.
“AKP'S DREAM PROJECT HAS TURNED THE PROVINCES TO EACH OTHER”
Kaya said, “The way the line is told to us, it is a line that will reach from Erzincan-Kelkit, Kelkit to Gümüşhane center, from Gümüşhane center to Torul district -Torul district of Gümüşhane, and from there to Trabzon Maçka and the coast. This is how we were told. Now, our fellow citizens from Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Kelkit and Torullu ask the fate of this line. It has even been a topic of discussion in the region. Rightly, the citizens of Rize said, 'Why doesn't this line pass through here for us?' they said; Our citizens and fellow citizens from Ordu and Giresun 'Why don't we come to these regions by railroads?' they reproached. It also turned into a competition between provinces. But there is nothing but a story presented as 'gospel'.” said.
“NO 1 METER RAIL IN THE EASTERN BLACK SEA”
CHP Trabzon Deputy Kaya, Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk said about the railway during his first visit to Trabzon in 1924, “The next time I come to Trabzon, it is my biggest dream to see this place covered with iron nets.” remembering his words; “Ninety-eight years have passed, in the Eastern Black Sea region, from Samsun to Sarp Border Gate, in Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Bayburt, Rize and Artvin, there is no 1 meter of rail.” said. CHP Trabzon Deputy Ahmet Kaya continued his speech as follows:
“WE MAY THE PRESIDENT COME TO SEE, THE TRAIN TICKET IS ON ME”
“Mr. President made a statement in Samsun; Referring to the 10th Anniversary Speech, 'We literally built Turkey with iron nets.' he said. I replied, 'There is no 1 meter rail in the Black Sea. If you want, let me buy your train ticket, come and see for yourself. Maybe you are given wrong information, there is no 1 meter rail around here.' I said. It seems that people who do politics in our region, who do politics in our country; They gave false information to our people, they did not tell the truth, that is, they talked about a railway line that will end in 2023, but we have seen by experience that this is just a story. Here, there is nothing in the middle of one year until 2023.”
“POLITICIANS DECEIVED, TELL THE TRUTH, WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE RAILWAYS?”
“My request from you is this: Now, you are the bureaucrats of the state, please tell this nation the truth, because the politicians lied to the nation on this issue, they deceived the nation. As the bureaucrats of the state, I want to hear the truth about the Erzincan-Trabzon Railway project from you. What is the fate of this project; Will this project start, at what stage? Is it at the project stage, is it the line to be built, or is it just a story?”
“THE REGION HAS NO TRUST IN AKP POLITICIANS”
“Mr. President Rizeli, Mr. Minister of Transport, our fellow citizens from Trabzon, Trabzon has 4 ministers, each of them has a word on this issue, there are 4 deputies from the AK Party, each of them has words, the mayor has words, but there is nothing and the nation does not trust them. no obviously.
