MURAT ARKIN: “CÜNEYT ARKIN HAS BEEN A UNIQUE ELEMENT OF ALL OUR PEOPLE”

The speeches of Arkın's two sons, Murat Arkın and Kaan Polat Cüreklibatır, after their father were applauded for minutes by the citizens in the hall. Murat Arkın, who said, "Our family is a beautiful family and a very beautiful family", expressed his feelings with these words:

“But today, thanks to you, I realized that; Our family is bigger than we thought. Thank you to everyone who organized and contributed to this day. My father was not a person who liked to be praised very much. This ceremony is for his family, for you, for the millions who love and respect him. He always said 'my nation', 'my people', 'my country', and now I know he went to heaven. But really, such men are the ones who will make even heaven their homeland. It's really hard for me to talk. It's everywhere I look. We learned everything from him. Every step I take, everywhere I look, it's there. He's still there when you get in trouble. He said to me, 'If my son comes to trouble, take a step back; That doesn't mean you're a coward. You look, it keeps coming, take one more step back. Look, you have no place to take a step, then be more trouble than trouble,' he would say. Cüneyt Arkın has been a uniting factor for all of our people, regardless of their religion, language, race, sect, color or political view. How happy we are. We opened with his films. I would like to end my speech with a line from his films. Today I saw people crying a lot, from time to time sobbing and from time to time I saw those who cried from their hearts because they were afraid: 'Don't cry bre! Epic is worthy of such people, not weeping.'”

KAAN CÜREKLİBATIR: “HIS ITS NOT DEATH; IMMORTALITY COMING WITH DEATH”

The emotional words of the late Arkın's other son, Kaan Polat Cüreklibatır, were as follows.

“Our family is a very beautiful family. A family that loves, respects and cares for each other. We grew up, got married, had children. Our foundation; our father, who taught us, taught us. In fact, his is not death; immortality with death. He lived his life very hard but lived it to the fullest. He always used to say to my mother: 'Betül, you are a great mercy for the world'. He used to say to Murat, 'You beat me again while playing chess, son'. As for me, he would say, 'You have beautiful eyes, you smile blue at the world'. I was small; In an interview, they asked, "How are you raising your children?" He replied: 'I want my children to be happy, to laugh and to be good people.' I was a child, I could not understand, what is a good person, how to be. I learned to be a good person by watching his movies. I learned about modesty, the good always win and the bad lose. He had me write the manuscripts for his last book. I believe that your whole body soul has passed into me. One article said: 'It takes courage to live life.' He was the courage to live. Our duty is to keep his works alive. I bow before him with love and respect. Thank you for teaching me.”

İMAMOĞLU: “CÜNEYT ARKIN, WHO SEEKS RIGHTS AND WHO DIDN'T DESTROY IT”

Making a speech at the ceremony, İmamoğlu said, “We are together to bid farewell to one of the most valuable, productive and biggest names in Turkish cinema. Cüneyt Arkın was one of the most valuable artists identified with cinema. He made unforgettable films," he said. Expressing that he had his first cinema experience with Cüneyt Arkın's movie “Black Murat” in his childhood years, İmamoğlu said, “Cüneyt Arkın, who both promotes the historical symbols of our country and seeks justice to its laborers, is actually a person who has established a throne in our hearts with those characters. When one thinks about it, one feels like this: It is as if they are losing a person who already exists in their home. In other words, Cüneyt Arkın and names like him, interestingly, did not leave our house and were always with us. But they raised us, but they grew up with us. He has such an interesting mood,” he said.

“I HIRE RESPECTFOR YOU”

Visiting Arkın at his home recently and sohbet Reminding that he had the opportunity to talk about it, İmamoğlu said: “We will never forget Cüneyt Arkın. We cannot forget. But it's also important to survive. We are also responsible for keeping it alive, we are in the positions we are responsible for. Again, recently -there is not a bear- we talked with my dear brother, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen, about Cüneyt Arkın, by chance. That you're classmate, that's what I'm with sohbetwe talked. What a coincidence, we published a good book; there were also lots of photographs and memories about Turkish cinema. In the Istanbul Bulletin this month, we also published a valuable interview in which he talked about Istanbul and how he made the movies. In these last months, we actually had a conversation with Cüneyt Arkın, we talked, we had trouble. He had many lectures and moments. Therefore, it is our duty to keep his name alive. As befits an Istanbulite, with his family sohbet with his wife, children, even grandchildren. sohbet We promise, of course, in the presence of all of you, to keep his memory alive in Istanbul in a way that befits his name. God have mercy. Rest in peace. God rest the soul. We will never forget. And I bow to him with respect for his valuable services, with his beautiful identity, his stance that makes us breathe, and his words of encouragement.”

BÜYÜKERŞEN: “HE WAS A TRUE ATATURKIST”

Büyükerşen, Arkın's childhood and youth friend, also expressed his feelings, “Today, we are all in great pain. The days when we spent our youth and university years together pass like a film strip. If he had not joined the world of cinema, he had in mind to build Turkey's largest children's hospital. Another characteristic of him was that he was a pure Kemalist. He was a folk hero. He represented folk heroes in his films. I'm telling the young, the new generation, let's explore the unknown aspects of Fahrettin and read. He was a friend of mine who gave up on being a doctor and entered the world of cinema.”

HUN: “It's like a piece of my body has been taken off”

Actor Ediz Hun said, “Many actors in the world were very successful, they made very important films, they were great films, but they did not have the talent, intuition and talent of Cüneyt. I feel like a piece of my body has been ripped out. He was an extraordinary person, unmatched. The name of Cüneyt Arkın will be written in golden letters on the leaves of history. I bow respectfully in front of the memory of the saint,” he remembered Arkın. Büyükerşen and Hun kissed Arkın's coffin wrapped in the Turkish flag, causing emotional moments.

Arkın's body was taken to Teşvikiye Mosque after the ceremony at AKM.
