Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer issued a message to teachers and school administrators at the opening of the Summer Vocational Work Program, which will be held online through the Teacher Information Network, which started today and will be completed on June 24.

In his message welcoming all users entering the ÖBA homepage, Özer stated that they were happy to complete the 19-2021 academic year by taking all necessary precautions under the Kovid-2022 epidemic conditions, without interrupting face-to-face education, and thanked the teachers individually for their sacrifices for the uninterrupted continuation of face-to-face education. he said he did.

Emphasizing that not only the education system is as strong as the teacher of a society, Özer said:

“We are happy that we have a strong teaching staff with 1 million 200 thousand teachers. As the Ministry, it is our top priority to support our teachers in every aspect, to increase their reputation in the society and to make their professional development continuous. In this regard, we witnessed historical developments this year. The Teaching Profession Law, which was given the good news by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on November 24, Teachers' Day, was published in the Official Gazette on February 14, 2022 and entered into force. Thus, an independent professional law for our teachers, which has been mentioned for 60 years, has been implemented. I would like to express that I am very happy to be a part of this. With this law, teaching was defined as a special profession. Our teachers will be able to advance in the career ladder as teachers, specialist teachers and head teachers, and in line with these new titles they have won, they will have new personal rights, especially a salary increase.”

Minister Mahmut Özer stated that they implemented 3 practices with a new approach in the professional development training of teachers, which were held annually before, and said, “We implemented the School-Based Professional Development Program in the first application. With this program, we have created a system in which each of our schools can respond to the educational needs of their teachers. Our teachers had the chance to attend a training that meets their own needs by getting the training they need in the school environment where they work. As a second application, we created professional development communities. With this application, we have implemented an application-based education approach where our teachers meet with colleagues, academicians and experts in their fields and share their experiences. As the third approach, we implemented the Teacher, Manager Mobility Programme. This program, on the other hand, is an application where our teachers and administrators see good examples on the spot and transfer them to their own schools. Thus, our teachers will have the opportunity to assimilate the positive culture developed by the school they visit with their own observations and experiences and to put them into practice in their own schools.” he said.

Reminding that the Teacher Informatics Network, which teachers will actively use in all these applications, was established, Özer said, “The Teacher Information Network is designed as a meeting point for the professional development of our teachers and contributes to the sharing and dissemination of good practices. At this point, the number of documents given by our Ministry to support the professional and personal development of our teachers and school administrators has increased by 220 percent. In all these approaches, our aim is to constantly support the personal and professional development of you, our esteemed teachers, by standing by our school administrators and teachers.” said.

Expressing that they increased the budget in this area approximately 2022 times in 2021 compared to 35, in order to be used in all these programs, Özer wished the professional work program to be successful.
