Those who loved Ahmet Piriştina, who passed away as a result of a heart attack in 2004 while he was serving as the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, did not forget. The late president was commemorated at his grave in the Lower Narlıdere Cemetery on the eighteenth anniversary of his death.

Ahmet Piriştina, who died in 2004 at the age of 52, was commemorated at his grave on the anniversary of his death. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor attended the commemoration ceremony at the Aşağı Narlıdere Cemetery. Tunç Soyer, Ahmet Piriştina's wife Mine Piriştina, daughter Zeynep Piriştina, son Levent Piriştina, brother Mergim Piriştina, grandchildren Arya, Miya and Damla Piriştina, Narlıdere Mayor Ali Engin, Konak Mayor Abdül Batur, Güzelbahçe Mayor Mustafa İnce, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Secretary General Ertuğrul Tugay, a close colleague of Piriştina and former Konak Mayor Erdal İzgi and many citizens attended.

“Piriştina family is not alone”

Thanking the attendees of the Levent Pristina commemoration ceremony, he said, “18 years is easy to say… As the Pristina family, we saw you with us on the first day we received the bitter news. You shared our pain. Eighteen years have passed, and on the morning of June 18, we saw that the Pristina family is not alone. Those who love Ahmet Piriştina and work with him did not leave him alone again today.”

Participants in the ceremony left carnations on Piriştina's grave. At the grave of Ahmet Piriştina, the Quran was read and prayers were said.
